Yesterday was about 2-13 with Steve trying to learn him. After watching this video it's probably 20-12 or so today. I was afraid this guide would be very technical and difficult, but actually was easy to understand and super helpful for a newbie like me! Thanks!
Holy shit!! Thank you!!! 🔥 Yeah that’s my direction to go to make sure it’s simple to understand because a lot of new people will not know how to go on learning. Again thank you for the donation and let’s get to training!
@@ShinBladeTVbro what's your take on Steve new stance. I mean power crush crushes all 3 options. So you have to hard read and do weaves for side steppable power crushes or back sway for highs. Coz I guess duck cancel from this stance is -13 or so. And God forbidden if someone does rage art. Not only that when u r have low health doing cheap step is like u losing the round as they do power crush. Coz of the flow of the pressure game u end up doing 1 out of 3 options from new stance rather than doing duck cancel after cheap step!! 😅can u elaborate on that!! If possible
@@alphagamer0812the stance is only strong if it’s on hit. Just remember the risk that if it’s on block or whiff they can RA, Power Crush or launch you. I learned to never use heat crush when they’re in rage since they can just RA if you don’t go for LH1.
@@rapschised bro I am talking about hit only. After hitting cheap step you are +7 still if the opponent does power crush it will beat all 3 options. I guess same goes for RA as well. At block you are severely at disadvantage. That's whole another story. I was talking about on hit!
@@rapschised the power crush Armor activates even if u do LH1 after hit which is the fastest from this stance! At least to my testing that was the case. Don't know if rage art also gets activated before LH1 connects
Just a minor note, the stance cancel that Shin keeps referring to as *Flamingo* is actually called *Flicker* stance, sometimes noted as FLK in combo guides and move notations in the wider Tekken community.
Picked up Steve (for my first Tekken experience) due to your enthusiasm in playing this character. Thanks for putting this guide together and ushering in this new wave of fans like myself with great content like yours!
Just Going through ALL of Steve’s basic combos and situations has been a better guide for this character than all the “in depth” ones I have seen so far. You are killing it my man. Thank you
Always wanted to get into Tekken and Steve was the only charcater i wanted to play. But kept hearing hes the hardest to play. After watching this, I'll just learn Steve and dive in. Awesome guide
Steve has been my dude since tekken 4 and onward to T8. This my first video by you and this guide got me in my bag fr fr . Thank you for the dedication bro
This is my first Tekken I ever invested time in and Steve was just the character I gravitated towards, I took notes in my phone through the whole guide so I have a mini mobile version lmfao. Very much appreciate this information. Looking forward to sharpening my skills with Steve.
I didnt even think to look up Mr. ShinBlade for a nice breakdown, I was tripping 😂😂 I subbed while I was at it! Been playing Tekken for 20 some years and for some reason finally decided to to put some time in with Steve. Ive mained hei and kaz my entire Tekken life, AK is my third hope he gets back soon! Steve is more appealing to me in 8 and this video was nice! I thought I was doing everything right but the master makes so much good info easy for a old head like me to follow and im sure you young bucks got a lot too! Great guide, best one ive seen so far im stubbron and usually try to learn it all on my own but THIS is the way to go! Ty ShinBlade!
Was excited to learn Steve but was an uphill battle learning Tekken 8 alongside trying to learn crouch cancel tech which every other guide was telling me to do. So hearing you talk about the basics and 'small Tekken' first is a breath of fresh air. Subscribed.
Steve is my secondary character alongside Kuma. I have always had a natural affinity for boxers in fighting games, being a boxer myself. However, I was a bit intimidated by this iteration of Steve. You broke things down in a way that was very easy to understand, but still in a way that allowed for a LOT of creativity. Props to you man, got a new sub for sure. I look forward to seeing more content!
My first tekkan game and I'm loving Steve. Moves and stances are racking my brain and I keep messing up my analog stick direction but I'm having a lot of fun with steve
Subbed! Was always reluctant to learn Steve and it's been years since I touched Tekken. Decided to get Tekken 8 and your insights are a gem! Wishing you a lot of success :)
Thanks for the guide ShinBlade! I was a Reina, Victor main but I didn't realize that I liked counterhitting so much so I recently swapped to Bryan and Steve so this has been super helpful. Looking forward to more of your content
Got me singin that combo to myself out loud as I hit it. "Back 1..Duckin 1..Down Forward 1 2 1" This may sound dumb, but i've always found rhythm and cadence to be helpful during long ass combo strings. Appreciate the hard work man. I already know this is certified. Straight from the GOAT so you know it's official.
I really appreciate it shin folk but I think the hardest thing about Steve is doing all this in neutral bc his neutral is so different from any one else can you make an advanced guide about his neutral/etc
Thanks for the guide ShinBlade. Played a little bit of Steve in T7 but never played it seriously. Now I'm trying to level him up and get real nice with him
thanks for this man! I've always had difficulty playing the more technical characters in the game ie hwoarang, steve. This guide makes me less of a dumb*ss playing him :D
Playing a lot. 1 + 2 is so good at least in the low rung. Great punish tool for misplaced rage arts. I'm a total noob. I have to fight 5 spammers to get a good match in. It's pain but I try to figure things out instead of winning. Good match feels so good. When both are just on instead of exploiting noob tactics.
Just copped this game, first tekken game I’ve bought I saw some vids of Steve on TikTok and instantly wanted to main him. I’m a mk player I mained Johnny cage in the recent one. He’s not exactly like him but I love Steve’s style. I looked up “best Steve player” and you came up you’re underrated asf. Question tho how come nobody plays Steve in this tekken? I rarely see him.
This is probably the best Tekken guide I've seen. It sounds like you're actually coaching boxing. I'm an Asuka main, but I watched this whole guide twice because its so entertaining. Easy sub.
Awesome guide, I need to practice that down 1-2 cancel and peekaboo stance. My neutral is too predictable and I find myself just fishing for launchers or 1+2 counters because I can’t get my offense going naturally.

Nin was my main reason of picking up Steve back in T6, and have been playing Steve ever since. Great video and thank you for the great guide!
