MS-20 Techno Jam Session (Korg MS-20 Mini, Volca Keys)

The Track is called "Journey 1" and is one of my live-performance Tracks
Set up my KORG MS20 and Korg volca keys in an FL Studio live-performance project and recorded it! The Mastering was done afterwards.
Both Synths were played via MIDI and all effects were done live within FL Studio. The Drums were mixed in the project and consist of Drummachine samples and effects.
If anyone is curious about the noise problem of the MS-20 mini, I have to admit that it really is noisy and imperfect... so ideal for Techno !

Finally someone uses the keyfadr. IMO the best live performance midi mixer there ever was. I only use the controller section, so I sawed the keyboard off.

No problem for me, most of my patches have whitenoise in them anyway
I haven't had any issues with noise and I use it for mostly recording as well.

Hey man. Great track. One question - I see you are using a Focusrite? I have a 2i2 and I haven't a clue how to connect my ms20 mini to use it in FL? The 2i2 doesn't have a midi input, I'm a bit lost :D

Studi Locker hey man, thanks :) it's a clean 808 Kick compressed, to have a louder click. Hihats are just sampled single shot drums and the clap is layered from different samples/drum machines.
Have to look up the project again if you need more details. Mostly EQ and some reverb for processing (that's my usual setup).
No compressor on the drumbus

Hey man, just got my MS-20 and came back to this video, how to you run your MIDI sequence through the MS-20?
Hey mate, you can either use the Midi-out of your Interface (you need a Midi Cable for that) or a Usb to Midi Cable.
After you edited your Midi in the Piano roll, you can select the Midi output, if you set it to the correct device, your MS-20 should be recieving it

Hey, I just delayed the other Channels Manually. Alternatively, you can just shift the Midi a few ms forward in the Arrangement view.

It's all Analog, you can't control it in your DAW

Hey, yes you can simply put an edison on all Tracks/Busses you want to record (as long as your PC can handle it). Make sure to put the Edison before other effects, so you have more flexibility :)

Great job man!I am considering to purchase a ms20 mini.How annoying is korg ms20 mini noise issue?I suppose that low triangle is almost uselles with closed filter.I lile techbo but I m more into psy/goa,drone ambient genre.
Thanks! There is a noticable white noise when hitting any key, so if you want to play a low Triangle bassline you could filter it out in post. In my opinion it is not a problem and its kind of the point of buying analog gear. The MS-20 Mini has a noise "problem" but it was not affecting my decision on buying it. If you want I can send you a File so you can see for yourself :)

Jason Day yo bro you can just go to your local music equipment dealer and buy a seperate midi interface for like 20 buks
Hey, you can buy a "Usb to Midi" Interface for a few bucks. Its just a usb cable that has a Midi In/Out, You can connect it and it will appear in FL :)
