@@grxviitygaming931 That's honestly what I was thinking. Who cares?
I used to study geology and was planning on going into gemology and he's right about the deeper you go the better the gems tend to be. Gems that cool down slower make bigger crystal formations because they have more time to form. Compare that to something like obsidian (volcanic glass) that cools down very quickly and has almost no crystal formation whatsoever. These rocks formed deep under the earth and got brought up due to geologic activity, but that still means you have to dig down deeper to get the better quality crystals (and bigger to boot). That guy really knows what he's talking about and it's so cool you got to see all those awesome gems!

If those Crystals were really worth as much as you guys are saying, they would not be that easy to find. Some big company would have that whole mine on lock. I dont believe they are worth that much

Amethyst of good color is worth 2$ per caret ( one caret being .200 grams ). So if a gem weights 10-15 pounds, technically, yes it could be worth 50,000+ USD . Although finding a buyer may be more difficult.

I've seen big ass amethysts in gift shops and places like that with super dark purple and lots of points and they are never more than a couple hundred bucks

They're real, At least the amethyst ones are....now finding 5 guns and a Rolex scuba diving, doubtful.
They are exaggerating how much they can get for those. It's not a very liquid market. Maybe in the right auction it might but I'm doubtful. I've been to mineral fairs where a 350kg amethyst went for 10k.
@@lllllll396 needs to be appraised by someone who specializes in appraising mineral specimens. Color, clarity, damage, size, weight are all taken into account. The fact that it was found on video(aka:documented find) increases the value as well, sometimes even doubles it. You can ask something that high, but it will sit for awhile and maybe, just maybe, someone with a bankroll would pay that....but then again, maybe not haha I once sold a very unique herkimer diamond crystal cluster for 500 bucks, and buyer turned around and put a 25k price tag on it...doubt he got that for it.
