UPDATE: Pink Gorilla is going to fix my PS5 controller & take a look at the console to make sure the fan is working correctly. If I need to send it back to Sony for repair, I will. Thanks for the suggestions!
I was gonna ask if the noise you are hearing is the disc drive. My PS5 is silent and I only hear the disk drive spin up once in a while.
@@mikem2253 different PS5 had different type of fans installed. I got my PS5 with the one with less blades, loud and annoying.
I want to ask you something, is Jim Ryan a bad PlayStation leader? Because I think so
Hey MJR one of my dualsense controllers had drift only a few weeks after taking it out of the box. I sent it into Sony for repair. It was definitely a hardware issue.
As for the fans, I don’t think I’ve ever heard it. Maybe once or twice after a long session the fan boots for a minute.
@@olioctane Jim Ryans fault
Getting a shoutout from Metal Jesus is the best way to start the weekend. 🤘
I just picked my unit up last week and its pretty amazing. Keep up the good work 👏
Better have a back up elite strap before it breaks and cracks bud. It's only a matter of time.
@@konamiscode8727 the strap issue doesn't bother me at all. I sit down when I play usually, and the strap has been fine for me.
@@jmike2039 if you have the standard nylon strap your right it won't be an issue, but if you spend 50 - 150 dollars in the elite series strap and see it break even if you where careful with it, it can be annoying.
Work with Series X ;)
It's insane how quiet the new Xbox is. I played for almost 8 hours straight last weekend and didn't hear it ramp up once.
I played for 8 hours gay.
@@joeseward9466 everyone has started playing for 8 gay hours now !!!
PS5 too.
I've had my series x for 2 months now and I've never heard the fan even once
I have a 2017 non Scorpio edition Xbox one x and it is still very quiet but xsx is insanely quiet and the build quality of the console is phenomenal the thing looks and feels like it cost more than $500 My ps5 on the other hand feels cheap even compared to one x.
I'm an old PC gamer from the 90's and the quest 2 has completely got me back into gaming. Quest 2 + Virtual Desktop + Half Life: Alyx changed my life!!!
We're a similar age, and Half Life Alyx might be the single greatest game I've ever played. Just an incredible experience.
@@Crushenator500 I was initially impressed but once I got virtual desktop running smooth and then discovered all the amazing content on the workshop I was really blown away and started to realize how far ahead of the competition Alyx really is.
Play Quake Champions.
Just got a quest 2 how do I set up virtual desktop so I can get half life alyx
I love how honest he is, most CZcamsrs don't mention the fan or down play the fact that every update the fan gets faster
"GamePass is a HELL of a deal!"
And now they are even getting former PlayStation exclusives to launch day and date on it. They announced that MLB The Show 21 is coming to Xbox, both the X1 and Series versions, on launch day. Thanks Microsoft, you just saved me $70!
Isn’t mlb available on all platforms?
Gamepass is a sweet deal alright, but the NEW Xbox is for NEW, next gen, games and theres none !
Thats why the XBox doesn´t spin out loud, theres nothing for it to play that makes it sweat ...
@@Lhawk2107 that’s true. I’ve had an xoxo 360 prior to PS4. Xbox series x feels like Xbox one and not worth to buy. Since they can’t make new good games they bring out backwards compatible games which most people have already played.
@@mountaindew3201 Just Xbox and PlayStation. Not PC or Switch.
They got ONE Playstation exclusive, it was a fluke that was outside of Sony's control due to the MLB threatening to take away Sony's license to make MLB games if they didn't make it multiplat. Sony didn't even publish the Xbox version. Don't expect this to happen with any other Sony IP.
Ive had my PS5 since launch and I have to say that its very quiet and the controller has given me no problems. Very solid machine thus far.
Its an amazing machine. The controller itself makes it default win this generation in my book.
I truly love what the dualsense technology can offer in games making the ps5 my platform of choice on any multiplat game that utilise the technology in the controller. It really added more fun to the gameplay for me.
I’ve had no issues with the controller either. As far is as the fan goes, it’s super quiet maybe 95 percent of the time. Occasionally, it would run real high for maybe 30 seconds but stop and then that would be it for a while.
I think its just the disc drive I hear every 15 mins or so it checks for a disc. very well made system.
honestly same here and i am surprised to hear metal Jesus is having issues with his console
@@sjmatiak the system actually installs the game to the built in ssd so when you hear the disc spinning up its checking the game license and making sure its a legit copy etc.
I have a Series X. Love it so far, I want a PS5, sucks I’ve been unsuccessful in getting one. I hope I can before the new Ratchet and Clank game.
Why before? Worried about spoiler videos? 😀
@@JakeSweeper No, I just don't wanna miss it entirely on day 1
It's not going anywhere lol
That game specifically is why I bought one. I've heard people have good luck with hotstock to find them.
Why would you want a PS5? You've got all you need
I have never heard the fan on my PS5. The disc drive is very loud when it checks if you have the disc in, maybe that is what you are hearing.
Yeah probably is. MJR is a games expert and pretty good at software but a hardware n00b so probably has no idea how to tell fan noise from dvd drive noise or coilwhine. thinking theyre all the same noise
@@Ardonn He could also have a faulty fan that is too loud, but the disc drive sounds a lot like the old pros fan.
Mines quiet as hell so I definitely don't get it

I wish you could use the Quest 2 with Xbox Series X.
That would be great!!playing Half life alyx!!
I was thinking that too. Would be great playing my psvr games with it too. I dragged out the psvr the other day and oh man, definitely archaic.
I do believe you can use it with a PC on steam also.
Virtual desktop works so well wirelessly with my PC/Quest2 that I hope Microsoft is trying to adapt the same tech for use in their current hardware. I think it'd be foolish of Xbox to skip vr again this gen.
@@OutlawFarmersRC I believe it just needs a separate cord and it will work as a PC VR headset.
This result is pretty much what I anticipated as well.
I played a little bit of PS5 at a friend's house but being a big Playstation user for decades now I still *have to say Microsoft is just better in kicking off this generation of consoles!*
Microsoft have better specs that’s all
Play station better exclusives
And on another note most games not even out yet . Xbox still have the same display as from the Xbox one and same controller ps5 upgrade a lot the display and controller
@@ItxStxck the PS5 Dualsense controller however has a lot of issues.
Although it is the best (and only) positive thing for Sony in the new Gen, I would recommend the PS5 to anyone right now.
And for anyone I talked to who got a PS5 already, they kind of agree.
Faster loading times are cool, but not worth the issues you have with the console and the lack of games on both systems.
This console generation is born dead already sadly.
At least Xbox is making some investment into backwards compatibility.
But still not worth to buy the new console for!
BRUH REALLY?? Ok people can have different thoughts but... Bruh.
The Series X is so fantastic, if you dont have it you should def consider buying one
Most ppl do consider buying one but not for 1000$ on ebay
@@sanmarino8605 yeah hopefully they'll be more available soon, they aren't too hard to get most places here in Europe, but in the US i hear they're hard to get. Either way, it is worth it.
I still can't get one. I have tried.
I’ll wait until there are more exclusives.
Having used both I can say if you can't wait get the series s. It plays almost exactly the same. Most people won't notice the graphical difference
It was also discovered that PS5s came with like 4 different fans depending which one you got. I believe it was random. And the tests run on some video, I remember hearing a couple of them were louder than the others. No clue why.
The problem is the filtering capacitors in the Power supply but some fan variations drive the capacitors in a less annoying way, depressingly.. the most silent fan makes the capacitors make the worst sound.
The fan is not the noise people are hearing, the noise is the disc drive randomly revving while checking the license on the disc. This has been proven by if you remove the disc from the tray and play a digital title the PS5 would stay 100% silent. The April 14th update has fixed the disc drive issue completely.
The China COVID crisis caused a parts shortage worldwide, especially for chips across all industries from cars to computers to consoles. That's why there's a PS5 shortage. So I won't be surprised if that's also why Sony is sticking multiple fans from multiple different suppliers because a single supplier simply doesn't have enough stock or materials to cover all units.
@@voided_reality6863 Do you even have a PS5? yes the drive is noisy when it spins up but it's the capacitors constantly buzzing that is driving people insane
@@thomassmith4999 I've owned a PS5 since launch. The capacitors have not once been the mention of issues with noise, not a single time by anyone in any of these posts. However, I as well as tens of millions of others have had to deal with disc drive revving, which actually was mentioned by countless consumers as well as reputable reviewers. Feel free to stfu.
Interesting, I haven't heard the fan on my PS5 at all. The disc drive is loud though.
My XSX is super quiet. I've never heard it. It's crazy what microsoft packed into their system.
Was going to say the same. Even if you leave a disc in is loud but take it out and silence
The disc drive makes a ton of noise. At times it’s like half the sound of a dreamcast
My XBSX makes zero noise
Yeah the disc drive pisses me off. It seems like every 40 min or 60 minutes my disc drive gets loud for 25 seconds then stops. Truly hope that crap gets fixed. I have an x box series x and it is super quiet.
@@JohnWickstairs Sadly i don't think it will be. MS went out and got the cheapest ass reader they could find i think.
Not cool at all
Coming from being a exclusive PC gamer for many many years I am really liking the Series X and the whole play anywhere experience and Gamepass. From my PC to the Tablet on the cloud and casual gaming on the big screen with the Series X. It's been great. I am even starting to collect older physical copies of xbox games!

@Daniel Dean imagine being you.
I can't say I have ever noticed the fan on my PS5. My controller still going strong too.
Someday me asked MJR to make videos more longer, than just 10 minutes. Now we're got SWITCH Game Collection with 35 minutes, Craigslist with 18 minutes, 90's PC Game Collection with 30 minutes and this new one with 19 minutes! I mean ... Is this called Seattle hospitality for the followers? Maaan.. You're knows how it's going, right? You grab something crispy, brew aromatic tea and play new videos from MJR! MAAAAD LOOOOVE!!!!!!!!!!
Just get your headsets and controllers from best buy, target, walmart etc and get the protection plan. I just take back any faulty tech and get an instant replacement
Yeah, that’s not really a solution. I mean, in a pinch it’ll work, but you shouldn’t have to pay extra for a protection plan because you know in advance the product is unreliable. I wasn’t happy when Microsoft released a console that red ringed, and this isn’t cool from Sony. Just fix the issue (preferably before release next time)
@@monkeyballs512 well i find the price adjustment nominal but faulty units are just a natural reality of mass production, no industry is immune. In a perfect world no one would need extended warranties or protection plans but at some point you just grow up.
@@reddchan yeah, it’s a grown up financial decision to purchase a regressive protection plan that is a huge percentage of the base cost on a relatively cheap item that I could replace out of pocket. I think your understanding of economics is weak
Oh man I feel like you’ve been really unlucky with your PS5. Had mine since launch with two controllers - each one has seen hundreds of hours of use and been dropped onto the stone floor of my man cave at least once with not a single issue - and I’ve never even heard the fan running. Hope you get that sorted bud.
@@zombiemachinery4868 your trying too hard…
Great video, I like how you don’t bs then tell why you like a system and what can be done to improve it. Good work 👍🏻
Thanks! 👍
So nice to hear someone on CZcams saying good things about Microsoft and Xbox.
MS is killing it right now and is so consumer friendly and CZcams seems to just bash them all the time.
I got both systems at launch.
Demon’s Soul Remake is INSANE. It is absolutely my #1 game right now. And Astro Boy was way more enjoyable that I would’ve ever thought. The PS5 rumble is pretty sweet too.
With that said, the Xbox Series X is the system that I spend the most time on. The controller is almost perfection and like you said, Game Pass is outstanding. It is the “hidden gem” of gaming. People need to see it. The value is absolute bonkers. And all the free upgrades to OG Xbox games, 360 games and Xbox One games is so amazing. Skyrim in 4k locked at 60fps is insane.
Demons Souls, Spider-Man and Sackboy would run you over $200. These games are great but I can’t express how much better of a deal Game Pass is than that.
It’s only a matter of time before MS starts pumping out exclusives that are true Series X games. And those will be on Game Pass too; incredible.
I really hope the mainstream gives Xbox its due. Yeah, they misstepped bad in 2013 but all companies misstep. Why does Microsoft’s have to be a death sentence?
They licked their wounds and are really giving gamers an insane console and deal right now.
Once Series Ss get in stores for $300, man, Xbox deserves the love. It’s a great package.
Nervous about the controller issues with the PS5. I've had to repair 2 Switch controllers and it's always a major hassle to get it repaired.
Had the system for two months now without any issues. I don’t think it’s as bad as people are saying it is.
@@Redstar19791979 it's all luck. I had 2 PS4 controllers do it and it was totally unplayable, so I'm also very nervous to buy a PS5 cause I've had the bad luck before
I had the console day 1 and spent over 300+ hours on COD and Nothing on drift
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Metal Jesus brings off the best energy and is the coolest guy! My respect is through the roof for you and what you do for us gamers!
Ok
I love the fact that the legendary John Carmack is a part of the team that is designing and improving the Oculus stuff but the biggest reason I don't want one is: Quest 2 requires your Facebook account to login.
just create a fake FB profile for it. the less info FB can track about you, the better.
@@jeffb.6642 Sadly they are cracking down on that and have been banning the fake accounts, which causes you to lose the games purchased with that account.
Same. I actually bought one, and returned it when I saw that you HAD to have a FB account linked. No way I'm supporting any system that requires that.
Not gonna buy it, I hate FB.
Hate to break it to you guys, but every gaming console, PC, and smartphone you use is constantly using all your information constantly and sending to marketers. The FB integration on Oculus has far less intrusiveness than I see on pretty much every app on my cell phone on a daily basis
Hey Metal Jesus...your interview rocked on “The punk rock MBA” podcast. Very cool hearing on how you got started.

I don't ever hear the fan noise on my PS5. The disc drive is what's loud.
Yep, like a chainsaw at some points!
People that don't play often think that that sound is the fan. It's understandable to mistake it as such but it's definitely disc spin. They need to stop the system from checking the drive every 15 to 20 minutes. I just make sure I take the disc out if I'm not playing.
same here, mine is really quiet
@@Sticks_of_Truth I didn't notice it on Demon's Souls and Miles Morales (booting with disc in the drive) but definitely when I started Ghost of Tsushima.

My PS5 is virtually silent. Maybe once an hour the fan spins faster but only for about 10 seconds. I've also never had any controller drift issues.
I got a Series X and love it. It’s my very first Xbox console and can’t believe it took me this long to get one.
The PlayStation brand has changed so much over the past few years that I don’t even care about the PS5.
Definitely having a hard time adjusting to the accessing rest mode in PS5 too. Not a big deal as you said jsut annoying.
Ps button, press left and its right there. I got used to it a day after I bought the system
Didn’t even know people are getting used to accesing rest mode lol.
Yes! Like MJR said, you're programmed to hold the button down from using the PS4 and other systems. It doesn't really make sense to me either because it's not a usability improvement.
Hi MJR. Just a quick message to tell you how much I enjoy your vlogs. As a 45yr old who has been playing games since he was eight, first experience was with a Sinclair ZX spectrum and the game Green Beret by Ocean. I am from Scotland so if you are ever over give me a shout.
Cant hear the fan at all on my PS5, disc noise however is an issue.
Mine sounded like a buzzsaw when a disc was spinning. Ended up selling it to a friend for cost (and of course I gave him a heads-up about the noise). I'll pick the system back up after the first revision.
@@argylega that can be solved by adjusting the disc drive with the self eject screw, very very simple to do
@@godfreake where is that?

The fan is completely silent. What you were hearing is the disc drive randomly revving up. This was a bug that has been since fixed in a recent update. If you remove any disc from your PS5 and play a digital game you'll notice the console will stay dead silent.
I've had my ps5 since launch and my dualsense hasn't had a single issue. Drift seems to be a random luck of the draw occurance.
The Oculus Quest is a no go thanks to the compulsory Facebook account.

Exactly..

Yep. Deal breaker.
Just here to say that I love the intro clip changing with every episode, always with new memories from previous random episodes.
My PS5 only makes noise when booting up a disc & even then its only for 20 seconds or so. I will try & get a series X when they give me a reason to later down the line, for now i am content with my one X.
I'm still on One X too, but sincerely, for me the FPS boost alone is enough to make me want to pick the Series X. Quick resume, faster loading would be great, but to know soon the console will have tons of FPS boost games added to the catalog, makes me crazy to don't take advantage of this tech.
@@musicvideoenhancer The FPS boost is a most welcome featur to offer as we all know increased frame rate is what most gamers want versus resolution but i need new software from Microsoft before taking the plunge.
I have the series x and ps5, both are good, personally I think the hardware of series x and the software/servicess are better, the retrocompatibility is a game changer, Sony sucks at this, I was hoping to play bloodborne and got dissapponted by the performance and resolution...they need to step up their game on that part. I had the one X before switching and it makes a whole world of difference, quick resume especially, I hate everytime the ps5 closes my games to start a new one... feels old. That being said, I am having a good time playing the ps exclusives since I skipped ps4.
When you want to play cool Bethesda & other Xbox IPs that are coming this year, like flight simulator & CrossfireX. You better get one
@@1anre Flight Simulator is cool, play it on my pc with gamepass. If new games & ips turn up then that would be great but i think we may be waiting a spell, for now i will stick with my one x, ps5 & pc & see what comes to the series x hopefully sooner rather than later.
I have been really happy with my Series X. I initially wanted a PS5 since I have a decent PC, but ended up going with the Xbox after I saw how backwards compatibility would function. As you said, it is a surprisingly polished experience. I have been enjoying a ton of games I never got around to before, thanks to GamePass and the improved visuals. Only issue I have had so far is the disc drive not liking one specific 4K blu ray, but otherwise it has been pretty flawless. I plan to get a PS5 at some point, but for right now... I'm honestly just really impressed with the Xbox.
Same, I had a lot of games I missed last gen that the Series X has bumped to 60fps and improved visuals with Prey, Sleeping Dogs, and The Evil Within 2. I know the games are coming but I am loving the bc library and the preservation
Did you yet get your PS5?
That's weird, my PS5 is really quiet even when playing stuff like Ghost of Tsushima or Miles Morales. About on par with the sound of my PS4 Slim, except that would get really loud playing God of War while the PS5 is still quiet. God of War was the only game that could get my PS4 Slim loud though.
As an Oculus Quest 1 guy, I found the lack of popular VR games disappointing because I saw cool games like Job Simulator, L.A. Noire, and The Exorcist and people of Oculus/Facebook locked me into their tiny store and it was inconvenient to get myself out of their store. Also, the lack of Google Maps, Google Earth, and other world exploration VR apps were the nail in the coffin. I got very little out of my VR experience except for 1 good boxing game. With the Quest and Google Daydream, I learned the potential of VR so I know it'll be amazing some day, but a small, closed platform like Oculus that will require Facebook login for access soon isn't very enticing. If only the Index were half the price and I could stay in the Steam world where I'm comfortable. Maybe PSVR2 on the PS5 will convince the industry to invest more in VR.
Sorry to hear you're having issues with your PS5 MJ. I should say that I am lucky enough to not get the drifting issue and my PS5 is whisper quiet. Except when installing a game from disc
I never knew there was a name for the problem with joysticks which you addressed as "controller drift. I've had it on a few different controllers and even on the Ps2. I always just click the analog sticks a couple times and move them back and forth in every direction quickly and it's always fixed it for me. Has never "not" fixed the problem, ever.
I really want to get a VR Headset at some point.
No u don’t.
Really reinvigorated my love for games to be honest. Nice to get a small workout when I play too
Get the new Oculus, and get as much RAM memory as you can afford.
Same, but im gonna wait for PSVR2
@@peterpereira3653 what dedicated be system would you recommend? I am not into the Oculus company.
Oculus Quest Trumps PSVR by a lot, if you're a console gamer and thinking of getting into VR, Oculus Quest 2 is the thing for you. The tracking is spot on, and the games are super affordable.
Great video, Jason. Nice to see a truly objective comparison and your honest thoughts. It also looks to me you look a bit slimmer than some videos I saw of you a few months back.
Good thing about Game Pass also is there monthly rewards system where you complete quests and other things for gift cards, game pass extention, etc
I might finally break down and get a Series X with Gamepass. I don't collect games anymore and there's a ton I haven't played so it seems right up my alley. One question, what is that game over your left shoulder amongst the PS4 games? Top shelf, second cube from the corner in a mostly black box.
Coming from an Xbox One on 1080P TV to a Series X at 4K TV makes a world of difference. The Witcher III, Doom, and Forza look amazing.
Unusual you got fan noise, mine its silent other than disk drive when installing
It's very likely he was mistaking the disc drive revving randomly for the fan being loud.
Yeah that's true 👍
Just got turned on to your videos this year and I'm so glad I did. Love all of your content and especially your calm positive demeanor. Will definitely be following for years :)
Ever since Sony moved their headquarters to California and appointed Jim Ryan as CEO they have gone right downhill for me
Yeap, Kaz, House and Tretton were the best, but they all jumped ship knowing what was coming, and how PlayStation would begin to fall apart. Sony now have a complete new board and heads of PlayStation and they are slowly wrecking the entire company as a result.

I love the Quest 2, it links up to a Steam PC wirelessly and the image is great for VR. It totally blows the PSVR away.
Jason Ronald is an engineering genious!
The controller drift problem is exactly why I don't like to buy gen 1 systems or peripherals. Wait until stuff has been out a while and bugs have been largely worked out. If the controller problem is mechanical, then waiting for newer controllers with the problem fixed is key.
14:11 I recently picked up a quest 2 and I think it would be great if you could make a video of your favorite games for the platform. Also with the quest 2 you get a twofer as it can function as a wireless PC VR headset as well.
Thanks for the warning. I have the series S & X and have had zero issues but I was planning on picking up a ps5 but after hearing this I’m going to wait till the controller is fixed. I had drift on a third party switch controller and I do not want to go though that again.
I'm happy to see that the new Xbox Series X is the superior console...👍🏼💯✔
Hey jason , i found some neat features on PS5 , like you can actually open the web broswer and pin it to a section of your tv screen and it actually lets you multitask like watch youtube videos while playing games at the same time
Nice early morning post metal Jesus!
Good video on several fronts. Addresses all the major issues and the big benefits of each one, including Oculus. I've also been LOVING several of the Series X exclusives as well, especially The Medium and Bright Memory
MJR - thanks for the 4K60FPS footage!
You bet!
As modest as it is, this actually serves as the most unbiased and best user-based review of both consoles I've seen yet. Microsoft won this round and it seemed like they would out of the gate. It seems to be a trend at this point as per performance vs. sales throughout the generations. PS2 vs. Xbox - Xbox tanked in sales, but ultimately was the best console to own during that generation, especially when it came to 3rd party games. Xbox 360 vs. PS3: Sony became extremely arrogant, yet ambitious, and made a console comparable to the Sega Saturn in terms of development and price; thus the neighboring powerhouse runner-up, the Xbox 360, took the cake. Then, Microsoft got arrogant and tried to put out an entirely under-powered piece of garbage, probably taking a note from Nintendo without the necessary home-based development, which turned out to be the terribly named Xbox One. They relatively quickly tried to make up for it with the Xbox One X, which outperformed Sony's next foray into the cellphone-style next best thing PS4 Pro, but the original PS4 was a drop-the-mic console out of the gate with much better hardware than the Xbox One, no DRM threats, and did the same thing the PS2 did in the way of really taking off with the starting gun. And the PS4 killed. Even owning an original PS4, you missed out on very little that the PS4 Pro crowd was gaining. Even Xbox One X users scratched their heads at some of the exclusives that the original PS4 pulled off. But that's where that ends and where this generation ended before it could begin. Blame the pandemic all you want, but these new consoles came out way before they should have. Clearly, Microsoft designed the better box. It runs cooler, it's quieter, it has the faster hardware aside from the storage, and it not only looks cosmetically better than the PS5, but it actually fits in your entertainment center without having to sit vertically next to your TV. You combine the hardware with the advantages of Game Pass and backward compatibility, not to mention the dreamy developer mode and killer emulation support...
It's nice to hear someone finally come out and say it while putting these consoles right next to each other after using them for months on end. The Xbox Series X is arguably the end of game consoles. It offers NOTHING new other than being lower-priced than a comparable PC rig and having stellar backward compatibility, but the only thing the PS5 offered that made it seem like a ground-breaking piece of technology was the ultra-fast loading. Tack on the storage capacity limit to that and the less than breathtaking performance of it and I stand by my point - both of these consoles were released a year too soon and while neither one of them provide anything close to the advantages we've seen in next-gen console releases previously, the Xbox Series X absolutely wins this round. Hands down.
Played exorcist legion on quest 2. I love horror games but in vr it is absolutely terrifying! I really dont know how ppl do it.
Funny how the built-in hints system was also implemented for some games by Nintendo on the Wii and Wii U, but people were very vocal about "OMG making games too easy!". I always thought such a system is very useful for the exact reasons MJR spoke of. No need to hop onto a PC or phone and scrub away at video game forums and CZcams video search results.
I love my oculus rift. One of The great things about the oculus is that you can use it to play games using an emulator like game cube or virtual boy emulator.
Your channel continues to surprise me, MJR!
You started off your PS5 breakdown with a positive Destruction AllStars review (those are hard to find) and a werewolf game and I’m like “What werewolf game?!” Was those really your first titles you tried?
And then your DualSense review highlighted stick drift - which would obviously be annoying as it is with the JoyCons though I haven’t experienced it yet - but didn’t mention how incredible the haptics and resistance is in a wonderful game like Astro’s Playroom.
So I’m very happy with my PS5 purchase. I’m more of a physical media person but anyone dipping their toe into that ecosystem should check out the PS Plus Collection because that is a very nice high value selection of AAA titles they’ve put together.
Maybe check Series S some time. I got Both S and X. And the S is such An underrated little system.
shutting down the ps5 you can just go left once to the power settings instead of scrolling all the way right across the screen
I'm personally so sensitive about the noise but my ps5 only does noise with disc inside if i turn it on and there's a disc inside the system does noise during 15-20 seconds and then stays silent 95% of the time
It's also worth noting that since the XBox One and PS4, consoles have been based on X86 architecture. When new hardware comes out, it's not really a "feature" that the games run better. It's more like upgrading a GPU in a PC. Sure, there are some changes that need to be made, but it's no where NEAR the level of complexity of moving from something like PS1 to PS2. I agree that Sony should list games that are "ported" like Microsoft, but honestly, they ALL should be. All the PS4 games anyway. Same with Oculus. Another neat thing about Oculus, with a simple USB type C cable, you can connect to a PC and play VR games from Steam. Or, you can get Virtual Desktop for $19.99 and connect over WiFi. I hear it works great! You'd also be able to get more use out of the higher refresh rate of the Quest 2. They can bump up the refresh rate all day, but it the Quest can't deliver the fps needed, it becomes a moot point.
If you shaved your head you'd look a LOT like Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars
I've got the same controller drift problem with my PS4. Same with my daughter's. I bought a new controller for mine about a year ago, and 6 months in I had problems on certain games. I bought my daughter a PS4 a couple years ago, same thing happened. The strange part about this is our older controllers work fine...I gave my daughter one of the old controllers so she'd have two, now that's all she uses.
Really looking forward to the next sony vr headset. At that point I definitely jump into VR! Great video Jason :)
You should!
You can press left and go directly to the power button. Don't need to scroll all the way over.
New MetalJesus video? Good way to start off a Friday!
I think you are over blowing the fan on the PS5. The PS4 Pro was the one that was like a jet engine. The fan on my PS5 is barely Audible, and I do play very taxing games. And luckily both of my dual sense controllers don't have any drift yet
I never had any problems with my ps5 and I play 10 hours straight multiple times.
I have ps5. I have no problem with the nosie from the fans. The only thing i can hear is the disc drive. But when the disc is finished loading, it is almost quiet. Sorry to hear that your controller isn't working properly.
That elbow slap. Lol
It's ironic that you as a game collector, are praising game pass. I mean, it's a decent deal but you constantly talk about how you like to own physical copies and here you are embracing a digital service and basically supporting the all digital future. 👏👏
I’ve gained every day since I got my PS five around Christmas and my controller does not drift my PS five has not crashed I don’t understand any of the complaints honestly
We need an update on which system you prefer
I’m still trying to make it thru my backlog of games from the last 3 GEN of systems - I’m in no hurry to get either system right now.
Haha i’m with you! Every time I close down my PS five, I hold down that middle button and it’s so annoying!
Metal Jesus videos always get an automatic like from me 😁
That PS5 fan noise could be coil whine. I just sent one back with this issue. It’s sounded a lot like a fan, but totally stopped in dash, and if you listened close, you could still hear the fan spinning. Back into the game: immediate noise.
You were able to get a PS5?! I thought they were a myth...
Been hunting one down for a while now. Stopped looking after they announced the store shut downs. That digital edition scares me.
I was able to buy one off a dude who found one at a retail store in Oregon. Thankfully sold it to me for the retail price too. They are out there... but yeah, it takes time.
I paod 50 more for mine. It was worth it for me personally
Was able to snag one by no lifeing the restock reddits, of theres a will there's a way!
i paid 200 bucks more for a bundle from gamestop
it came with miles morales, a $20 gamestop gift card, and a 2nd controller
i already had miles morales digital and have no need for a 2nd controller, but i was unaware gamestop didn't allow returns for bundles without returning everything including the console
Zero issues with my PS5 fan noise. Always silent unless installing a game from disc then disc drive noise happens. But only during install. No issues with my 2 controllers either.
Off topic but I love all the different Nintendo pillows on your couch.
It’s likely the fan noise you’re hearing on the ps5 is probably the disc drive, the drive is quite loud when it needs to read from disc, especially on last gen games when it needs to read more frequently.
Ps5 vr series 2 is looking good mate.👍
Playstation controller drift is caused by the flimsy board that house the sensors for the dual shock sticks. The board over time lifts and comes into contact dual shock stick. If you disassemble the control you can apply a small amount of adhesive to the board to hold it down.
You really dont mention how fantastic the dualsense controller is, for games like astro's playroom. That's a new experience and a game changer
I had a drift issue on my switch when I first got the pro controller and it was really bugging me but then after a week or so, it went away. By itself. Now two years later and still no issues. Switch is a little beast.
My ps5 is silent except the disc drive just letting everyone know
I agree. I hear the disc spin up for a few seconds right after I put it in. After that, its silent.
Yep! Mine aswell, disc noise for some seconds, then basically dead silence.
I wonder if the digital version doesn't have the noise problem.
Yeah I commented this. I think he’s confusing the disc drive noise with the fans. It’s quiet when I don’t play from a disc.
@@GaryGoodJob_ I don’t think he’s confused, it’s known that that ps5 fan can be a little loud sometimes ... once the console recognizes the disc it doesn’t have to spin anyway. Also perhaps try laying the console on its side to reduce the noise from the disc drive
Your ps5 seems to be a aberration, most impressions, including for myself, the fan is silent. Might want to open it up and seem if anything is clogging it.
Why do that if it's still in warranty lol
@@tomybebe7123 because opening the side of the ps5 and even taking out the fan is super easy and doesn't void warranty.
Or how about when I buy a brand new $500 system, it works how its suppose to
@@ciccnick that'd be the goal of any company.
