Anupama Bhagwat: Raag Puriya

Anupama Bhagwat was the opening artiste at the recently concluded Khayal Rang festival, now in its fourth year.
One of the leading disciples of Pandit Shri Bimalendu Mukherjee, doyen of the Imdadkhani Gharana, Anupama’s style is characterised by scintillating fast taans, mastery of the meditative alaap, and brilliant fluency of melody (raga-bhava), while remaining true to tradition.
She began her recital in Raag Puriya. She was accompanied by Zuheb Khan on the tabla.

अतिशय सुंदर. उगीच तुलना वगैरे करणार नाही. आलापी ऐकणे ही वैयक्तिक आवड आणि इथे पुरिया सारख्या रागात तर अधिक खुलून येते. रागाची *बढत* तर बढिया. हळूहळू रागाच्या प्रकृतीनुसार, नाजूक हरकती ऐकायला मजा आली.

In this recital it appears that the jawari of ditar needs some well set to augment the opennesd of sitars sounds sound... It's sweetness, otherwise in all your present puriyas presentation issuperb..... Melodious, enthusiastic and decorati g puriyas mood quite well.. Regards
