    sometimes it's the simplest things that are lightbulb moments. no one ever once explained to me that a ganglion is outside the CNS and a nucleus is inside. Thank you!

    thank you for the excellent explanation. though i have one question, what is the significance of having 3 neurons in the ascending pathway instead of just having one long one ?
