    At last!.. so many of these YT videos claim it is 'just' cleaning around the spark sites... none address the switching (misalignment) problem except you! I looked under the know of the offending gas tap and sure enough that particular switch was slightly off compared to the others. I moved it back just a touch and only click once now. I have put up with this for years. Grateful. I even know how to replace the switch set and loom now if it happens again.. Dread to think of a call out fee and then the engineer condemning our otherwise spotless 24 yr old hob for £13 part

    Thank you. That was incredibly helpful. I think it would be more helpful if you recorded the process of removing the panels, but I should be able to wing it.
    Also, I like you, mister, you have a kind face.

    I was able to get igniter to stop sparkling by cleaning the tips with sand paper. Hope this helps some folks that run into this problem.

    Thank you. I removed 4 switched and put it in a jar with alcohol and salt like cleaning a bong) and shaked it a lot. Than I put it under close to running faucet and finished off with a carb cleaner. They started working like new no more click

    I had a pot of water boil over, making the igniter wet, causing constant sparking. I used Gumout Cleaner and Degreaser spray inside the square igniters. The spray drys quickly, and the sparking stopped.

    Hi, i have a 14 year old bosch cooktop that has experienced constant clicking when the knobs are in the off position. i've cleaned the igniter electrodes with rubbing alcohol (worked briefly) and more recently with contact cleaner/sandpaper and they are working for now. i can't remove the burner hex bolts so i can't get underneath to diagnose/replace parts. any suggestions (beyond penetrating oil and don't force them) for removing those hex bolts? thanks

      you have to pull every dial and remove the screws, every one behind all the knobs. then the face comes off

    At 01:25, you say the igniter switches are the input to the spark module; isn't it instead the module that powers the igniters? It seems backwards.

    Amazing. 88ACB 1 igniter wouldn't setup. Watched this video. Repositioned switch module with screwdriver without even remove surface top. Turned power back on. Problem resolved. Thank you. Subscribes and liked.

    Every time I clean my has top, it started to constant sparking for one day and then go off itself. Now I learnt that water must be shorting the switch for a day. Thank you for an easy explanation.

    Igniter on maytag gas stove too slow ,lites with a puff. small explosion. burns holes in all my wife's shirts and blouses, getting expensive. Any way to have ignition start before gas starts flowing.. Warranty tec guy less then useless ,

    i did something stupid, i was cleaning under the igniter caps and it was loaded with food and grease. I attempted to use a sponge but it might have dripped off some water, so i sprayed a couple small squirts of kaboom degreaser just on the white parts and then they started clicking, constantly, the 1st knob was sparking and i couldn't stop it and then we unplugged the stove.. I used a qtip to finely get all the areas but i might have burned it out, its been an hour and the house was smelling like gas so i'm scared to turn it on. Its a GE profile, what should I do?

    • @KushMaster5
      @KushMaster5 Před 3 lety

      If you're not hiring out for the repair, carefully remove the affected igniter module. Depending on your scenario you may only be down one burner minus the clicking until you can properly resolve the issue...
