    Are you kidding, better then the Tudor? They’re not even in the same league. The GS is an absolute gem of exquisite and artisanal watch making.

    It’s a stunningly beautiful watch, yet somehow subtle. Not flashy. There is also a non gmt version. Imagine if it had the spring drive? Grand Seiko is killing it right now.

    I have couple rolexes, Jlc. There is no watch I have ever seen that is so beautiful as this. It's a keeper. Dressy and GMT. So unique. Usually end up looking at the watch to know the time, 90% of the time I forget to look at the time and get caught of on the absolute perfection of a dial and finish. Slightly on the thick side due the the Sapphire dome but who cares!

      You are spot on. This GS is just amazing. But the real delight is that it is an entry level GS!!

    I love GS as a brand, but I love the Tudor Pepsi GMT. I can actually read it. The GS is higher quality but they are just harder to read for these 50 yr old eyes

    • @watchesdreams
      @watchesdreams  Před rokem

      I do agree that the dial can be hard to read. The Tudor Pepsi is also a great watch. It would be nice to own them all. Watches are addictive ))

    Tudor is top tier, and the in-house MT series movement is unbeatable. I am a humble owner of a -1 second/day Pelagos. But yes, this Grand Seiko GMT is better than the equivalent Tudor GMT.

    • @watchesdreams

      Both are excellent watches. But I do like the classic looking GS a lot.

    I own both Watch’s. I love Them Both. The Tudor Blackbay GMT with Pepsi Dial is an Excellent watch that keeps great Time. The Tudor gets more Wrist time , I wear my GS more when I’m wearing a Sport coat. I think I would Give the GS the Nod!

      IMHO it’s great value at full price. It would be good value at 6-7 k. The finishing is sublime, and it’s one of the best looking watches in my collection, which includes several difficult to get watches.

  • @lewisjones3345
    @lewisjones3345 Před rokem

    Define better please 🙏 The Tudor is a vintage styled sports watch in the vein of the Rolex gmts of the 50s and 60s. The GS is a more classically elegant dress watch piece.

      That is a more complicated question than it should be. I own both the Tudor BB GMT and the GS SBGM221 GMT. And a watch timer. The Tudor is COSC certified (+6s/-4s in 5 positions and 3 temps). The GS defined accuracy is a little more opaque. They promise “approximately” +10s/-1s “while being worn”. And they go on to basically say to wear it for a week or two and if it’s outside of this range, have it adjusted. Fine. And I will say that my watch, while being worn, is indeed within the promised range. My only beef is that when the watch is in the face-up position (which is how I store all of my watches), it gains about 20 seconds a day, as measured by my watch timer and by observation. I actually returned it to the AD for this reason, and the replacement was almost the same. So it seems standard. This is noticeable when I store it over a weekend. The Tudor is very accurate in all positions. I love both watches and only bring this up as an observation and as a partial response to the question in the title, which doesn’t seem to be addressed in the video.

    Had it. Sold it. 1.5mm thinner and would have kept it. It had the weirdest clasp I've ever seen.
    Good review, though.

      I just got one and love it. Apparently the clasp is because it can be worn as a deployant as well as converted to a pin buckle.
