  • Freediving Equalisation can be a mystery. I've always wondered what actually happens when I equalise on my dives and for the first time ever I get to see what is moving in my mouth and how it's moving! I have learnt so much about my own equalisation from studying these videos and I hope they help you too!

    Activation an opening of E-Tube and clean VS sticky E-tube too see if it is the lip in front of the Etub or the Etube that get stuck. To get it to stick clean your nose with water and get it up to the opening of the E-tube... How "klicking motion" of soft pallet moves the E-Tube and cleans the water or mucus away..

    The eustachian tube is where most of the drama is for me, at least until watching your videos and learning to finally EQ! I think this would be difficult to video MRI because the tubes are so small and not parallel to a hemisphere (or probably straight enough) to capture in a single video image.

    It's really funny... I took photos for a company several weeks ago. In fact I took many photos from MRT's (that's how they named here in Germany) in the last years and I also know that machine in specific and the last place I visited was a scientific medical practice and they also told me that there are several medical studies you can join and you get the pictures for free. The thing is... most (if not all) scientific places are obliged to tell you what they maybe found in your body during the MRT-sessions besides the study... but for this topic you may find some professors to work with. Thanks for sharing Adam! I think about canceling my NETFLIX this month since I have a rule for what I spend for monthly stuff in the internet... so I will change from Netflix to your Patreon... very soon! ;D

    Hi Adam first of all I would like to thank you for all the content you are putting out there :)
    ... I need some advice ... Since always I had a hard time equalizing but the last days have been worse...
    I'm using frenzel and it's just really hard... I use a lot of energy to pop the ears sometimes so hard that it pushes air out my eye sockets - and it's supposed to be a easy thing.. I heard of people just moving their jaw to equalize ... no way I could do this...
    Any advice or experience would be highly appreciated.

  • @TheDavidVukovic
    @TheDavidVukovic Před 5 lety +1

    Why don't you start collaborating with researchers on the physiological details of equalization? I bet there'd be enough material for a peer-reviewed publication accumulating quite quickly! Plus, if the right people are convinced, financial resources (purely for conducting the project) are comparably easy to come by and there'd be no need to finance this fancy imagery out of your own pocket! I bet we could find you someone here in Zurich!

    • @ookiemand
      @ookiemand Před 5 lety

      And we would be waiting for years for an abstract of a written report, not seeing the video, not hearing of a expert level freediver of what he actually learned of it. Maybe it's better to have cooperation where Adam get's to show the data and talk about it right away, whilst the researcher spends more time exploring the minutia. But who pays, who owns the data... So I prefer we pay.

    • @TheDavidVukovic
      @TheDavidVukovic Před 5 lety

      These two ways of doing it not necessarily exclude each other. Nothing speaks against showing results before peer-reviewed publication - in fact, there's a huge movement in the scientific community to change this old paradigm and get the stuff out there as soon as possible. This fosters collaboration, feedback and public engagement!
