Hello, MojaveD. This is the first video of yours that has popped up on my recommended. I am enjoying it a lot so far. I have a dear friend that's an employee at Naughty Dog (the creators of The Last of Us), and I've sent her this video. She works on accessibility features for their games. A simplified controller scheme for elderly gamers may very well be an option they're interested in. Great video. I hope you enjoy the game!
WOW! That is great, @zachsmith9481! Thank you.
Welcome too the Mojave community man we’ve just been on one hell of a roller coaster with red dead redemption two and then red dead redemption 1 and now where on another one. This guy is truly one of the greats. You won’t be disappointed.
Get Mojave in tlou3 too 😂
It would actually be a great option for the very easy mode for example, having less controlling functions to use (e.g. automatic reload if that is not already a thing in the easier modes). It would be helpful for people just getting into gaming as well.
Accessibility features in these naughty dog games are absolutely incredible
"Do they have a level for the elderly?" Is my favorite line lol
That made me go awwww out loud 🥹😄
I was like Neil Must watch this and add it in the future
“TWENTY YEARS LATER?!!”
I remember having this reaction lol
Also “The Army. Thank god.” made me laugh knowing what comes next. 😂
Time for a military dictatorship yay lol
It's rare when someone stops what's happening, and actually reflects upon it. Great attitude sir.
Tips/suggestions:
1) Don't think of the game like you would an open world like RDR2. Naughty Dog games are beautiful but pretty linear. You can search for materials in the general area you're in, however large or small. Just remember that unlike a RDR2 the world isn't seemingly endless.
So if you ever feel stuck or lost know that the path or solution is somewhat near by.
Their goal is to deliver the story first and foremost, then adding fun gameplay around that story so it will kind of lead you forward the entire time.
2) I'd turn on aim assist in the settings. Remember, there is no set difficulty or way to play. Play on the essiest level with all the help they offer if that's what gives you a better experience.
I assure you that they will not leave anything out even at the easier difficulties. All plot points, enemies and materials are present in all difficulty levels.
All that changes is the ease at which enemies go down.
Whatever makes the experience betted for you is the options and difficulty level you should use. Set up the aiming/look speed and such to whatever you like.
3) There is not a massive amount of materials and such in tje early game. If you don't see a prompt within a few feel of an area there likelly isn't anything to grab there.
They want the world to have limited materials such as ammo so it's not unusual to walk into an encounter with five 9mm rounds, a brick and a bat, haha.
4) Finally, you can sometimes go around an enemy but at times the only way to go is through them or killing them. In all instances you can use stealth or world objects to help you. Be it throwing a brick to distract an enemy/lure them away from you to things like stealth kills.
You can clear out entire rooms of enemkes with zero bullets if you desire that route.
Your intuitions are keen, haha. You'll get the hang of it if you stick with it. I gua-run-tee!
Great comment.
Mojave seems to enjoy looting. He's gonna love this, isn't he?
This game is really a "thinker's game" IMO. It rewards understanding the details of how your various enemies behave and your different weapons work.
For example, experimenting with bricks and bottles will reveal more uses for them.
R1. Listening mode. The d-pad is the inventory. Theres a distinct sound whe someone is spitting u. He asks about ammo but I don’t think he pays attention because there was 6 rounds on the stairs that popped up on his screen he just kept walking 😂. He’s already on easy u see how much ammo drops there have been
WOOO! No way! I remember when you said you weren’t interested in zombie games. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Technically, they are not zombies lol.. But i get your meaning.
I usually don’t like zombie games either, but this one quickly became one of my absolute favorite games.
Erm actually they're not zombies they're victims of a mind altering contagious fungus ☝️🤓
@@NL-SanderH89so they aren’t zombies but this is your favorite zombie game?
I don't like zombie type of games either, but I liked this one..... and Undead Nightmare 😅
In truth, TLOU is more about people and its relationships, than about zombies
Unc only plays goated games
I rely on y'all to point me in the right direction.
Brother, I'm a grown man in my late 30s, I've played the game three times over the years and that scene with Joel and Sarah emotionally wrecks me every time. The voice acting, the animations, atmosphere, thinking they've gotten to safety only to be heartbroken, it's so expertly made. You are in for such a treat if you can play this and its sequel, I can't wait to watch you feel it all. Cheers!
I played it, not knowing what was coming a few months after my son was born. DESTROYED.
I'm not sure if anyone else has said it yet, but something that may help in combat situations where you can't see the enemies... if you hold R1 (the button above the right trigger) it activates a "listening mode" where it highlights enemies through walls and past obstacles.
Great video by the way man, hope you enjoy the game 👍
Cool. Thanks man.
"How old is this game" There are three different versions of the same game.
2013: The Last of Us - Playstation 3 (Original Release)
2014: The Last of Us Remastered - Playstation 4 (The only difference here is the high definition textures)
2020: The Last of Us Part II - Playstation 4 & 5 (Sequel on a new game engine)
2022: The Last of Us Part I - Playstation 5 (Complete remake of the first game using an updated version of the new game engine they created to make Part II. This is the version you are playing in this video)
We also have The Last of Us: Left Behind, which is a dlc campaign that takes place before the events of The Last of Us (The Last of Us, Remastered, and Part I), however, it should be played after you have completed the main campaign, because it spoils certain aspects of the main campaign.
jesus christ this game is a decade old now
the 2014 remaster's most important difference is that it runs at a stable 60fps. The PS3 version suffered from low, inconsistent framerate, like a lot of seventh generation games did

Naughty Dog nails the fidelity with these character models. They have a knack for the body and facial animations, the character's eyes tell so much without the need for dialogue.

Don't worry! This game was very new for us too. We all struggled with finding loot and getting lost in the puzzles.
Biggest tip I can give is to remember the developers use hints like light and yellow to show you where to go next. Sometimes when I got lost - I'd stop, look around, and try to think where I'd expect Joel to go if i was watching a movie.
Lastly - don't get discouraged! There's a few areas that I was hopelessly lost in until I googled it. You're a much better player than I could be with my patience
The Last of Us is simply my favorite game!

Wow this is GREAT! The Last Of Us is one of my favourite games ever. Glad to see you play it. This game is a masterpiece just like Red Dead Redemption 2
I haven’t played this game but I have heard that it’s a really great story game like RDR2, So it’s going to be really fun to watch it for the first time on the best CZcams channel.
this is the 2022 remake of the 2013 game, it's pretty much the same as the original in every aspect except that the graphics are better. However, it's worth noting the original had some of the best graphics I've seen in game and holds up very well even today, and probably did not need a remake but it's alright because the remake looks great too!

It's happy to see elders playing new video games as a youngster. Like this person does. I think that he has experienced the world before the birth of video games. It seems that he has experienced video games from his earliest days till now. We all agree that video games are now as advanced as other forms of entertainment. It's very satisfying for me to see the reaction of someone who has experienced video games from scratch. Good gameplay sir!! Love and respect from Sri Lanka!

"Smoke em if you got em" - Band of Brothers...one of the best series ever made about WW II :)
Mojave I wanna give you some tips. This is a survival game as you can tell, you should manage your ammo and resources well. You can sneak through multiple areas without fighting or without using ammo. There will be optional loot and areas you can find so look around the areas you're in, don't rush through. Items will be highlighted. Listen to the characters or you might miss something. Remember hold R1 to enter listen mode and see enemies through walls. You can grab enemies and use them as body shields. You can also restart an encounter or from a checkpoint if you don't like how you played. I recommend using a mix a melee and ranged attacks, you can shoot someone and then punch them to finish the job. There's also no auto aim from what I know. There will be some problem solving and strategizing so use that brain you got.
Items, doors, or anything else you interact with will have a circle prompt when you're near it and a triangle prompt when you're even closer. You don't need to click on a door a bunch if nothing pops up.
Thank you spacecowboy

This is a bit of a nitpick, but if you could decrease the size of the subtitles it would be appreciated. This game is so beautiful and uses a very minimal HUD (ammo counts mini maps etc) and the mostly unadulterated view is spectacular.
Ok, I think so too, need to up the brightness as well...wasn't sure where to put the settings, I'll work on it
If we're nitpicking, I have to nitpick the slight echo (especially hearable during dialogues).
It's probably due to playing on speakers - which I understand are way more comfortable than headphones, but maybe some mix might be achievable... One episode with, one without them... :D
Hey there.
Youre doing a nice job saving ammo. A nice trick is to throw a brick or empty bottle directly on the enemy and finish him with meelee attacks. To do that, you dont need to aim and throw, just hold the item and look at the enemy, there should be a circle on their head and then you just press R2. Followed by runing towards them and tapping square to attack while they are still stunned. This will alert their group, but it will kill most enemies in the game, specially if you're holding a meelee weapon (which breaks in a few hits).
What a fantastic discovery. I love your style of commentary. Much love

One big tip. TAKE YOUR TIME. You dont have to run through the game. Take as much time as you want in an area. Search every nook and cranny for collectibles. Look around and admire the awesome apocalyptic scenery. Take it all in. This is not an open word game like Red Dead. You will only pass by an area once. So enjoy, savor and marvel at one of the most profound gaming experiences ever made.
Blessings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Very good point.😊
Yassss, this is gunna be good. Just seein' the thumbnail made me so happy already, man.
I've just started a replay of this myself, so I'm extra excited to go on this journey with you, Mojave. ❤
Mojave you will love this story!
Here are some tips I can give you
1st tip: Use the r1 button or the “listen” mechanic more often to see your enemies around you
2nd tip: You can use bottles or bricks to also stun enemies directly and then grab, shoot, or strike them afterwards
3rd tip: If you run low on ammo you can use melee weapons to strike enemies instead but their durability will deteriorate after a couple of hits
4th tip: Make sure to stockpile on supplies and use them to craft items or upgrade weapons later on in workbenches
Hope this helps 👍, you can view the tutorials in the game as well if you get confused
This is great man, cannot wait for next episode!
Love from El Salvador Unc! 🇸🇻
The pistol Joel equips underground is a Browning Hi-Power. It used to be a Colt Defender (Basically just a sub-compact 1911 for conceal carry) in the old version of the game but they changed it. The revolver he uses in the prologue is a Taurus Model 66.
Not sure if anyone answered this yet but, while this game is older (came out in 2013), the version you are playing is the remake (which came out in 2022)! They basically redid the whole game with better graphics, combat, and just quality of life updates, which is why it looks so good! Definitely looking forward to this playthrough!
Oh boy what a ride you're gonna be in for Mojave! For me this is the only other game I've played that's on the same realm as the Red Dead games.
