    HI-thanks for the tutorial. I believe that you can now host video in Squarespace Member Areas (thus removing a key "con" on your list).

      Yes that's right! 🎉 Now if they just removed the Member area limits and the transaction fees, it would be perfect 😝

      @@BigCatCreative So helpful! I've already watched like 5 videos! :) Do you have any videos on integrating a newsletter with Squarespace? Or also form management? I currently have forms (including the newsletter) lead to a gooogle sheets document, and I'm so far pretty dissatisfied. Hope to find some tips!

    I just started using Squarespace. I have only one course but it consists of 5 modules and each module has 6 lessons for a total of 30 videos. Should I be using a different plan?

  • @rhondacosta160
    @rhondacosta160 Před 2 lety +1

    Thanks for the tips on getting started with squarespace blog pages. Never would have thought of that one! For awhile I'll use my 1 course as a lead magnet for now. I can't recommend Teachable. It's not intuitive for everyone and when you get stuck and I did many times - they're terrible and offer any email support. That's just another headache. No video or phone support. For $39 /mth as a new course creator, that's a lot. Especially to be stuck all the time or have something go wrong and wait for an email response. Ridiculous.

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  Před 2 lety

      Glad that it was helpful! Oh interesting I didn't know that about Teachable, I know so many people who use it. I use and recommend Podia, as it offers similar to Teachable but much cheaper and their support has been so good and fast.

    Thank you so much for this video. Can you please tell me if I can create a landing page or website on Podia? I also need to create invoices for clients. Thank you!! 💕

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  Před rokem

      You can definitely create a sales/landing page in Podia, probably a whole website too but I believe it is very basic. It doesn't have the feature to create invoices but you can collect payments. If you need anymore help I would recommend talking to Podia support they are super helpful!

  • @theabsolutemomsensepodcast208

    Thanks for doing this! It's nice not to have to research everything on my own. Can you clarify the squarespace membership pricing? Are those numbers in addition to your regular site plan pricing?

    • @BigCatCreative

    @delgadoglory732 Před 3 lety

    If you have a personal plan on square space can you embed podia to the site for people to buy your courses without having to upgrade to square space business plan?

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  Před 3 lety

      Yes, you can use the BUY NOW button embed via Podia. Though you MAY need the business plan depending on the code you have to embed... I would reach out to Podia and ask (their support is awesome)

    Can anyone tell me if the 30minute video upload limit also applies to my course? Does that mean if my course videos exceed that limit I can't host it on squarespace? Thanks a lot 🙏🏻

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  Před rokem

      The upload limit will increase depending on which Members Area plan you buy support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206544187-Video-blocks

  • @DaysCrochet
    @DaysCrochet Před rokem

    Now that Squarespace allows video course content, do you think it’s still pricier than Teachable or Thinkific? I’m trying to decide on which one of these 3 options. It’s very difficult to choose.

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  Před rokem +1

      Hey! This depends on how much how much storage you need and how many member areas you need. You can see the Member Area video limits here support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050832771#toc-member-areas-plans-and-pricing
      List out your requirements and then compare the pricing. If there's not any HUGE differences then go with the one that's going to be easier for you.
      Generally I would lean more towards Teachable/Podia due to no transaction fees (I hate transaction fees!) and also Unlimited video hosting.

    • @DaysCrochet
      @DaysCrochet Před rokem

      @@BigCatCreative thank you for your response! One more question: do you know if Squarespace would have to integrate with Stripe in order to sell the course (sorry if that’s a dumb question)? I’m trying to figure out if it is only going to be 1% per sale of my course, or if it will be 1% PLUS the 3% Stripe charges per transaction.

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  Před rokem

      @@DaysCrochet Yes the Stripe Fees are separate and additional to the Squarespace fees

    My problem is that I need everything to be in one place.
    My website is for a book I'm publishing soon, and I want a site to host that book along with a course that will be free for people that bought the book, and some digital products too.
    Should I go for another place instead?

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  Před rokem

      What do you mean by "host that book"? Do you want to sell it from your website? You can do this with Squarespace ecommerce.
      I think you could do all of this in Squarespace, but it depends what you require for your course. If you know exactly what you need then you'll be better equipped to be able to choose the right platform. But it's not uncommon for people to use and link multiple platforms as often one can't do it "all" exactly the way the need unfortunately!

    • @Fyke816
      @Fyke816 Před rokem

      @@BigCatCreative By host I meant it would be the books 'main' platform. I'd likely just redirect people to the amazon page when they want to buy it.
      My concern is that I want the course to be 1 hour webinars, and there to also be a monthly article/blog.
      For the course however, I want it to unlock when someone buys the book - along with the other downloadable stuff that will come with the book.

    Is a course just one video? Or unlimited videos within the course

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  Před 2 lety +1

      It's up to you how many videos you want inside your course, or even if you want videos at all. Really it's just anything behind a login/gateway but you decide what the content is, no rules :)
