    Cool project! Just a tip for next time... for big slabs like this, it would be a good idea to reinforce the cement with small diameter rebar.👍

    This is so smart to make concrete outdoor furniture! It will hopefully stand up to the weather. Cheers from rainy Vancouver Island.

    Y'all needed some strong coaster wheels & then build you a "skate" out of 2 by 4's to roll it back there
    My dad & I moved a 3 inch thick concrete slab that measure about 3 ft by 9ft..for a picnic table that we were making for the park tables the skate worked really well for rolling them around but it took all 7 Brothers to put those slabs on top of the pipe frames

    • @olivegreyavenue

      We definitely tried making a skateboard type thing but we were too worried about being able to control it going down our sloped driveway and it making it through the grass.

    No rebar or wire mesh in the concrete?

    • @olivegreyavenue
      @olivegreyavenue  Před 2 lety

      We didn’t put any. We saw a tutorial about this method a few years ago and have done 3 slabs this way now. None of them have been this big but of course you can always add rebar or mesh for added strength!

    How did you get concrete to look white and how may bags of cement? Also what time of cement?

    • @olivegreyavenue
      @olivegreyavenue  Před 2 lety

      It may look white on camera but it’s a light grey. We used 6 bags of rapid set mortar mix and 6 bags of rapid set flow control. There’s more detail about mixing the concrete in our diy concrete coffee table video. I have everything I used linked here: liketk.it/3Bven

      Beautiful build, you should look into GFRC and lightweight concrete for such builds the strength is compatible but the weight is 1/3 - 1/4 at least

    Great video! Do you think this table is doable with an umbrella hole in the middle?

    • @olivegreyavenue
      @olivegreyavenue  Před 2 lety +1

      We actually considered doing an umbrella hole! I think you definitely could. Just get a pvc pipe and glue it in the middle of the form where you want it and caulk around it.

    • @olivegreyavenue

      Nope, mortar mix only has sand for a smooth finish and we didn’t use rebar. If you want to, you just place it in the center while pouring.
