Most people can never accept there is something wrong with them. So the fact that you know the problem, thats amazing man. Just focus on what matters to you and take baby steps. Dont quit on your addiction cold turkey because you will always go back to it. Just take baby steps and if you chug 2 cans down, start by doing 1.5 then 1.25 then 1 can and just lower it down like that. But Im no expert on this so maybe its better to quit all together. But if you lowering the amount down works then definitely go that route.

You can't quit alcohol by slowly drinking less and less. When you reach the point of being wasted, you will lose your boundaries on when it's enough.
I have been abusing alcohol during this pandemic (My alcohol problem is assumingly mild peaked at 6 drinks a day for ~2months) so pandemic didn't do as much you'd think to my mental health. But then I realized, alcohol is metabolized by half life. So if I drink 4 drinks. 2 drinks will be metabolized. But I drink only 2 only 1 drink will be metabolized in an hour. If I drink less at a time, I get to enjoy it more because I'm metabolizing more slowly so it last longer, so as a mild alcoholic it's totally worth it to cut down the effects. Next thing you know totally worth it! Not sure if just me but feels like my tolerance went down. I'm sure it isn't easy for heavy alcoholics but maybe try drinking just a tad less at a time? I'm not the expert just thought this a gud idea.
Yea Skizzle its different for different ppl. I quit smoking Marijuana 5yrs ago nd quit drinking 1 yr nd 9 months ago. There was no taking baby steps for me. There was no way in hell I would've been able to cut back step by step until I quit. I had to go cold turkey nd there was no way around it. Praying for Nero cause addiction really F'n sucks!
Yeah, no, that doesn't work, and is terrible advice. You have to just stop. I'm a poly-addict, so I know what I'm talking about here. Addicts can't control consumption of their drug of choice. That's why they're called addicts....

Nero I remember watching all your videos as a kid since I was 7 when Bo2 was out. Obviously I was a kid and thought of you as an idol. I grew up watching dear nero and was always the highlight of my day. It’s heart wrenching seeing you like this and i’m glad you’re being real with us. I hope you know your fans will be with you every step of the way supporting you. I know it will be hard but I completely believe in you and you will get through this.
For the rest of us addicts out here, this feels very real to hear and for a lot of people it's damn near impossible to get help. Rehab is about $30,000 in most places and people see addicts as lost causes, even when they're screaming for help. Hopefully one day society starts seeing addicts as real people

I’ve battled addiction in my early twenties, and have hit rock bottom at age 23, I’m 28 as of now. Your honesty is brave and admirable your helping people by being a example as someone who makes mistakes but is open and honest. Keep your head up man it’s always better to talk about your shortcomings than to bury them. From this video you know exactly what mistakes you’ve made and the steps you need to take to fix them. Your a great CZcamsr and a good human being embrace that don’t ignore it.

Honestly this might sound weird but get yourself to the gym , working out helps with stress, addiction, break ups and motivation, and you will feel great after, who knows you may get some good physical results and want to stay clear completely of alcohol so it doesn’t mess with your results

When it comes down to it imo you just gotta find some stability and fulfillment. Happiness is temporary. You'll be happy, sad, angry and all other kinds of emotions but they'll pass. Find something fulfilling, something to really live and strive for. For example, my close friends for years have kept me going and kept me feeling fulfillment and that has helped enable me to kinda get my life in a better state than it was over a year ago. I don't claim to be an expert. This is just my two cents on the thing. Love ya Nero and hope you get and especially feel better soon

When I was a kid my dad would always drink and sometimes I would wonder how he even managed to drive home. Seeing how destructive it was to my childhood and part of the reason my parents got divorced, I never wanted to end up like that. 10 years later I don’t do drugs and I rarely drink unless it’s a special occasion. I strive to be the person I wished was in my life to look up to as a child. Breaking an addiction can be a very hard thing, but sometimes “tomorrow” won’t come. You have to take a stand today. Not tomorrow, not next week, now. And you have to ruthlessly stick to it. You may feel worse before you get better but that is part of the process. Aside from the alcohol what you seem to lack is a passion. A reason to get up in the morning. Maybe you should take a step back and think about what you want to do with your life. How do you want to be remembered. Take a sheet of paper and write down 5 to 10 goals. And work to accomplish them and cross them off as you go. Whether those goals take a week, a month, or a year it doesn’t matter. Strive to not only retake what you have lost but grow beyond your previous peak. I have watched you for years and I hope you will be able to turn your life around.
Thank you for your story. My new passion in life is my channel, believe it or not. I want to rebound it, get it booming again. From there money will return, money will fix debt issues, money will allow me to build an extension to move my gf in, everything starts with the channel. This video was heartbreaking to hear what you had to go through, I’ve been here since mw3 and could’ve never imagined this but I’m also so proud of you, you know what you did and you recognize that it was wrong and that you have to do something to fix it, addiction is something you live with for the rest of your life and you may relapse but just keep trying your absolute hardest and it will make you a better person ❤️

5.5 yrs sober here... this story reminded me a lot of my own. Acknowledging the issue is a great first step. Positive self talk is next and everyday is a battle, Nero. Thank you! For awhile its been like "being bored is WAY better than having a hangover" or "wanting to drink is way better than actually drinking". I have to constantly remind myself because drinking is never like it used to be. Its not fun, its never like when I first started, its just a one way ticket to a bad time for me personally. I'm excited to give it up. Congrats on the 5 and a half years man!

Thanks man. Quitting nicotine has given me motivation, when I first went cold turkey I was popping mints like crazy, but after a while I don't even crave mints or anything. I'm just "over it" if that makes sense. No desire to go back to nicotine or anything, and I think the same will be true after awhile with drinking
@@NerosCinema if you can do nicotine cold turkey, you got the alcohol in the bag, only struggle with alcohol is hanging out with your peers if they drink a lot. I’ve left some really close friends because they wouldn’t take a break from drinking while I’m around (which isn’t often) surround yourself with people that want to see you succeed and you’ll accomplish anything 👍🏼

I haven’t really played a COD since WWII, but I still stay subbed and tune in every so often because you always came across more genuine than most other cod youtubers I have watched.
The realisation that you had, and the motivation to even make this video, address what you’ve done and pledge to be better means you are no where near the true rock bottom. Having the strength to admit your faults instead of using this as an excuse to crawl away forever shows you can get back to where you were a few years ago.

I'm 19 at the moment...(gonna turn 20 in April). For 4 years that I've been depressed and actually wishing to just disappear. For almost a year I've been heart broken in relation of someone, and that someone is the one that I love...but since I overthink and have an inexplicable amount of anxiety... everything went down hill. Without saying that people said bad stuff on my name when I didn't do anything. Recently I truly wanted to start drinking as you've been...well...doin @Nero but...I can't see myself to do it. I truly just hope that for a miracle I'm able to overcome everything. All the best Nero, you're not the only one goin through bad situations and all that...STAY STRONG 🙏🏻

Hey man, I had been going down a pretty self destructive path and it really took a lot of self reflection and discipline to start to change.
Here’s something’s that helped me
1) Find some motivation- mine was understanding it was my last chance and not disappointing my loved ones
2) Admitting you’re wrong is a start but talk is cheap. Making small changes is huge and backs up that talk
3) Find someone to hold you accountable besides yourself

Much respect for you for making this video man, I’m coming up on three years clean and it can be so difficult putting the bottle down, but it is possible, and I have faith that you can do it. Getting clean does not need to be done alone! If you can’t afford therapy I recommend something like AA or another twelve step program, because staying clean will always be easier with a support group. Stay strong man ❤️

Man, you're not a loser. You are someone who is struggling. People struggling with mental health and addiction go back to like the Viking times, probably way before too. As someone who struggles personally, I think it's good that you are self-aware. You're on the journey to getting better, but it's a slow one. believe me. I'm an addict, I have borderline personality disorder, mild psychosis, anxiety and severe depression. I'm 34 and every day I'm working to become a better version of myself. It's taken me a long time to get here but I'm finally functioning and doing well. I still have bad days and hard times but I never give up trying to be the better me. I see similar things in you, with the honesty and wanting better. I hope you don't give up. I can see that you are close to having some sort of breakthrough. Again, this stuff moves slowly. But think how much time you've given already. I believe if you just keep trying the way you are, and keep reaching for a better you, one day soon, you will reach that next stage and be able to sigh a breath of relief.
I watch your content because I'm invested in you. Keep being honest with yourself. Keep reaching for better. I don't think I'm going anywhere.

Drinking interfered with my goals there, and so was mostly cut out (I'm talking like maybe a drink per week, if that). It sucks in the beginning but I promise it's worth it. Nero, you have been one of the soul reasons I still play COD. Your insight and experiences with the franchise are unlike any other CZcamsr I have seen and you never, EVER give in to the “norm,” always challenging it to progress forward. This community YOU have built will always have your back and it is always a pleasure watching any content you put out there. You got this man. I struggled with alcohol for a long time. I made a fool out of myself regularly and the people I surrounded myself with didn’t even know who I actually was because I had this persona of the macho construction worker I felt I had to upkeep when I was drunk, which was every hour I wasn’t working essentially. I’m 8 months sober as of 2 days ago and I’ve noticed countless improvements in my life. All this is to say that I failed many times within days before I could reach 8 months. It’s a constant daily effort to stay sober but it is doable. Sometimes rock bottom is what you need to reach your highest peak.
Nero dont worry bro we all love you and appreciate your honesty, dont give up, You be suprised how many ppl have struggles similar to yours and manage to over come them and be better than ever before!
