16 Popular Chocolate Desserts Around The World
Calling Tiramisú a chocolate dessert is stretching it a bit...
The only thing chocolate in tiramisu is the cocoa powder sprinkled on top for decoration.
@@alvad.4884 yeah XD
@Alexander Kaden no, nobody gives a shit
@Alexander Kaden its a bot
Also, look at the 'tiramisu' in the opening titles- it doesn't even contain chocolate at all! It's just whipped cream and lady fingers! 😱 Edit: 2:21 oh no no no. SO many things wrong with this one. 1) You do not slice tiramisu like a bloody cake 2) it's not supposed to have intricate whipped cream piping on the top, it's supposed to be covered with a heavy dusting of cocoa powder 3) mascarpone is NOT nutty. Wtf?!
Tiramisu is known for it's coffee flavor not chocolate.
There are plenty of italian chocolate desserts like torta barozzi they could have used instead. I'm not even italian lol.
For australia it should have been millionaires shortbread as lamingtons aren't known to be very chocolaty and decadent but more light and airy eaten as a tea or coffee side.
Exactly. Even i know that and I've never tasted it before.
THEY COULD HAVE DONE LITERALLY NUTELLA BECAUSE ITS FROM ITALY
@@zainhaq well it's not a decedent chocolate dessert like the title suggests it's simply a spread though it would have fit the theme better to have nutella on bread😂
@@zainhaq Yes 💪😍🇮🇹 Nutella company is based in the North of Italy , in Alba , Piemonte , an area where grow the amazing " nuts from Piemonte " 😊
I've tried Tiramisu, and I just can't get past the coffee flavor! Bleh!!! If that were STRICTLY chocolate, it would probably rank up there, with my all-time favorite, Cannolis!
Sachertorte. Possibly the king of chocolate cakes.
No
@@cansarikaya5786 ok then evidently you haven’t tried one yet
Where is the time stamp for that?
Is it in the video?
@@blobd5249 no
I feel like there isnt enough research gone into this one lol tiramisu are you kidding me hahahaha
And malva pudding from South Africa. There’s no chocolate in it and it’s not served with chocolate sauce. It’s a weird one to include in a vid about chocolate desserts lol
Yeah, as if pretty much every comment on this video didn’t give you the memo.
Switzerland: Allow me to introduce myself.
I can't believe they skipped Switzerland. Chocolate itself is a Masterpiece here.
SO. GODDAMN. GOOD.
I always get Sweden and Switzerland mixed up.
I feel offended...
@Vladimir Putin Ah yes, cos every country that makes anything doesn't do that
I wanna try some of your chocolate 😭
@JackyRin not the really good kind tho
The pronounciation of Schwarzwälderkirsch Torte was cracy, and in Germany this cake looks a little different than shown here
I'm a Pole who took German in high school for only 3 years and still snorted at how she butchered that pronunciation 😂😂
i aint even german and i know how to pronunce it perfectly
That pronounciation was disgusting
Surely you have better things to occupy your time that to complain about someone’s pronunciation?
I thought the pronunciation was fine
As polish native, Babka and chocolate dessert is the last thing that'd come to my mind together, only occasionally it'll have additional cocoa. Director seemingly just went with any top result and didn't care about what ends up in the list if choosing it over different cakes we make in Poland, including a literal "block of chocolate" (yes, that's the name of it).
yee, also structure of cake is totally diffrent - not fluffly like this one in video. Babka as a cake is really dense sponge cake made with oil and eggs.
Right? I have never seen a babka like that, I mean we usually make „babka piaskowa” and there’s no chocolate in it. Tf
And also who the hell would eat it for breakfast? 😹
They did the same thing with Italy, they went with tiramisù that doesn't even have chocolate in it, just cocoa on top for decoration
Yes I'm Polish American and I've never seen Babka made with chocolate. They should have mentioned all of the wonderful chocolate candy that we have.
As a Jamaican I’ve never heard of chocolate rum cake 😬
me neither
Tiramisù is not an Italian chocolate based dessert 😰🤦🤦 Greetings from Italy 🇮🇹😁😁
Some Italian chocolate dessert : Caprese Cake ( Torta Caprese ) , Chocolate budino , Chocolate Salami and Tartufo nero .
I was thinking the exact same thing.. Creamy coffee dessert with (MAYBE) cocoa powder on top.
True
Yea that's a bit of a stretch. Just because there's cocoa powder on top. It'd be like calling a cheeseburger a ketchup based meal.
@Cammila
What then? Tartufo?
I'll ask Emma Fontella.
feels weird that the european desserts were given a history meanwhile chocolate literally comes from mexico.
Really?
@@anitachandra2030 yes! chocolate can be traced to the ancient Mayans, and even earlier to the ancient Olmecs of present-day Mexico
Yes it came from mexico, but chocolate as we know it now was developed by the europeans.
Its the same sense with the zero, it was first invented in india, but muslim scientist were the first to use it like we do today.
@@anitachandra2030 Chocolate as a beverage is from the Mayans, Milk Chocolate was invented by Nestle
ok? u don't have to be so butthurt by it
As a Nigerian, I can confidently say I have NEVER heard of, seen, or tasted a chocolate puff-puff. I'm still emotionally conflicted about whether I even want to. You can't call it a regional food if it's not popular in the region, which this one isn't. It's more like a gourmet remake of a common street food. Please get your facts right next time🤦♀️
"Emotionally conflicted" 😭😭 but me too, I was about to ask my mom if this is a thing mchew
ja as a south african i have also never eaten malva pudding with chocolate or seen it with chocolate
A chocolate puff puff is now called heroin its addictive
right i was like since when did chocolate puff puffs exist
They did the best they could. Haters gonna hate.
I can't believe they didn´t include the Chocoflan from Colombia, AKA the Impossible cake. A custard pudding baked with a layer of chocolate sponge cake baked on top of the pudding. It's so delicious
Chocolate Rum Cake is not a thing. Im from the Caribbean, Trinidad to be exact, and we have rum cake but in my 30 years of existing no one has ever made it with chocolate. I dont think they do that in Jamaica either
Thank you... dont know weh dem get dat from.... bout chocolate Rum cake....🇯🇲🤦🏾♀️.. We Nuh av DATT!!!
We don’t do that shit, why would anyone add chocolate to rum cake
Nope Ive never seen that in jamaica
I was saying Jamaica better be on this... But i thought it would have been chocolate milk (which was created here)
I was wondering if I was trippin cause as a Jamaican I've never known rum cake to include chocolate
"Souffle is the hardest---"
In French brigade kitchen maybe. Not in the whole world. The narrative that French cuisine is the hardest really is tiring when so many cuisine all over the world is way more complex and also highly technical to master.
You are salty ☺️
True!

Someone needs to Inception chocolate: Cake with layers of dark chocolate, milk chocolate, with truffles and coffee swirls, with chunks of chocolate crunchy wafers to give it a crunch, and some nutty chocolate Ferrer Rocher type balls but they are mini that are sprinkled on top of the chocolate mousse that is just layered around the entire cake... and chocolate sprinkles
That would sound really cool but I’m not sure anyone’s stomach could handle that
Sounds So Good Also Good Luck on Your CZcams Career. 👍🏼
Its always funny when they try to say "Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte" :D by the way we have a "cake" here in germany that has even more chocolate. Its called Kalter Hund or Cold Dog and its made with just chocolate and butter cookies
Correction: Mosaic cake is a no-bake dessert. You just need to mix everything up and freeze it for a bit, before slicing it up and serving it.
I was confused too! We call mosaic cake 'chocolate fridge cake' or 'chocolate tiffin' in the UK and it's a no-bake cake, like baking it would be so weird
I love this series, it's just so satisfying to watch
*Belgium* - I’m not a chocolate fanatic but did eat Belgian pralines every day when I visited. 😆👍
*Australia* - Food Insider was stingy with the coconut. The Lamingtons I had are completely covered and also with a thin layer of jam in the middle of the cake. Tasty.
Those lamingtons looked SO SAD
Jamaican here: this list needs updating Jamaica does not have a chocolate rum cake, we have a very dark fruit cake. We soak a mix of dried cherries, raisins, currants etc with J Wray and Nephew red label wine and their wine rum as well for about 11 months then we blend those fruits in the soaking mixture and add flour, and dried spices used in baking with eggs etc, what makes it so dark is a thick brown substance made from sugar that we call browning, when that's baked we use the above mentioned alcoholic beverages and soak the cake, this helps to keep it moist as well as preserve it for a long time, i love this channel can't have yall wilding with wrong information
Every single one of these sound amazing
Brigadeiro, do Brasil para o mundo.♥️
These chocolate dessert are so yummy, I want to try them all.
Love to try all of them!!
Champurado is soooo good, I thought you where just showing normal grannies chocolate for a second 💀
Problem is they used Abuelita. Ibarra is Mexico.
@@PochitoV90 aren’t both Mexican? 💀 I like abuelita better 😅
@@PochitoV90 uhhh,abuelita is delicious
@@dannyblanco8544 I like Ibarra better, I feel like Abuelita is overhyped. Plus i think abuelita is owned by a Swiss company even though it’s from Mexico
was für pfiffänä gopf !
I'd like to try the Polish one; looks interesting and yummy 😋😋
This is amazing
Y'all are killing me rn 🤤
I’m watching this when I’m fasting for Ramadan lol
me too, youtube only recommends this kind videos while fasting :'(
Thats cruel 😭 good luck
Same
Ramadan Mubarak!
oh dear. think about this, learn how to make one for after Ramadan. Canadian Nanaimo bars are sooo good and easy
OMG.. I want to try all of them 😍😍😍😍
Yep, this is not the babka we eat in Poland. In fact, I have never seen anything like the one you've shown.
I thought that also, I quit saw a reverence but it’s not the babka i eat.
I'm Polish American and I dont like Babka. I love Polish chocolate bars and candy, especially Wedel.
This looks like the babka we have in New York City. Maybe it changed a lot when it was brought over?
@@rebeccabirch6130 i think that too, i'm dutch and polish. And i now a babka that looks like it. But its nothing like the babka i know in Poland
@@rebeccabirch6130 This is New York style :)
I've lived in South Africa for my entire life and I've never eaten chocolate flavoured Malva pudding🤣🤣 Anyone else?
I was like wtf. Malva pudding a chocolate dessert!? You got to be kidding me.
@@chanelhamiel2470 Ikr! Like not even Woolworths would try to pull that 🤣

I want to try all of them!! 💗
OH MY GOD! I need to make all of these! Almost all of these!
Those were the saddest lamington's I've ever seen
Looks so old
I've never eaten one but I could tell it was a sad one lol
Agree. I don’t think I’d have guessed they were lamingtons if I were shown that picture on its own. Not nearly enough coconut.
Came here to say exactly that 🤣
0:49 fun fact, we have something similar in the Philippines, similar of name. Champorado (at least thats how i know it) but instead of a drink it's basically like a chocolate rice porridge. It does taste even better with some sugar added (preferably brown sugar), and maybe even evaporated milk.
It's not similar AT ALL. The pinoy thing is a porridge. The Mexican one is a PROPER DRINK.
@@theangryfireball1023 I don't get why you're being intense, but I just wanted to say it was just similar atleast to me. (We do have an actual bitter chocolate drink but the first thing that came to mind was our champorado)
Never had one but champurrado looks so good ❤️
I'd like to try them all!!!! Thank you, please.
*sweetest video ever*
I don’t even like chocolate like that, but I definitely watched this whole video haha still looks good!
Schwarzwälder Torte von Omi, es gibt nichts besseres 🥰
Very good recepi 🎉
Brigadeiro is the one that I want to taste!!! Looks yummy! 🤤
super easy to make - cocoa powder and condensed milk on the stove. cool and roll
As a Canadian, I never heard, tasted and saw the Nanaimo bar until I watched this video
Thank God it's lunch time, and I'm ready for a small desert.
Which do I wish to try? Hmmmm...after a bit of debate, ALL of them. As I positively LOVE chocolate.
This video made me crave for chocolate.
Soo yummyyy🤤🤤🤤
The ones from Belgium and Canada looked soo good
I’m from Belgium and they’re amazing!! We even have chocolate musea here because it’s so important in our culture
Canadian here, Nanaimo bars just hit the point of being too rich but a small piece perfectly chilled is absolutely delicious!
Belgium chocolate is soo good! Although I grew up with Cadbury
@@36OZ me too! And although I’m from Canada, I never heard of Nanaimo bars before. But Cadbury is the best
The ones from belgium taste even better! (I’m actually eating leonidas pralines right now)
As a Mexican descendant I’m happy champurrado was featured.😋
May I try uhhmmm ALL OF THEM!!!!
I would like to try them all please! 🥰
I would like try all of them
Omg these all look so amazing 😍😍😍
Yummmmy me gusta
Ok but in my 14 years of life I have never seen a lamington that depressing
You missed Sacher Torte from Austria!
ITS THE BEST
They put tiramisu as a chocolate dessert in Italy ahahah, you cannot expect too much from them
Brigadeiro is like a go-to treat at birthdays here in Brazil
Ah, chocolates, world's greatest gift to mankind! 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Finally you put Belgium in a list.
I love brownies, especially when they are nice and gooey.

Tiramisu for the win. Unbeatable

*ME WITH A RAGING SWEET-TOOTH: GIVE ME ALL OF THEM!!!*
Good food
Got the Babka from Poland wrong! No one eats yeasted cake on Passover! Only matzah!
I'm Polish American and I dont even like Babka. I prefer chocolate bars and candies such as Wedel.
Yeah, normal babka doesn't even look like that lol
Was just about to comment this. Might as well have topped it with bacon bits
I'm not from these countries but I want to try Poland and Australia desserts. looks so good.

Mosaic cake is just a simple cake here, more popular ones are baklawa, rice pudding, eclairs, profiteroles, cake, mognalia AND tiramisú And the mosaic cake is mostly eaten by children.Cocoa leman with raisin very common in homemade cakes
Uhm OK I'm from SOUTH AFRICA and malva pudding NEVER EVER has cocoa powder in it. Malva pudding is served with a rich buttery sauce that DOES NOT have cocoa powder in it.

If you ever came to Romania, you should definitely try cozonac with cocoa powder and nuts.
2:58 That's me! My local dessert!
There is also a Philippine version of Champurado
It's cooked chocolate sticky rice
We use unsweetened cocoa powder, add it to the rice just as it's about to be fully cooked
And we sweetened it with milk and sugar or evaporated milk or Condensed milk
2:45 WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO THAT POOR BROWNIE, IT AINT PLAYDOUGH
¡Salchichón de Chocolate!
🇮🇹 🇵🇹 🇺🇾 ❤ 🍫
How is tiramisu a chocolate dessert?????? I don't think the coacoa powder would classify it as such
I want to try all of them !!! But since when is Tiramisu a chocolate desert ?
Champurrado is not usually made with Chocolate Abuelita. People buy their chocolate tablets from their local supermarkets since you can add spices like cinnamon or anise.
It’s nama-choco. Nama(生) just means raw or fresh. The name Nama-chocolate comes from using Nama-cream (heavy cream).
It looks like the same texture as a meltykiss. How are they?
I would like to try Belgian chocolates and brownies
