I like your thoughts on people speed hiking trails, it actually blows my mind. I tend to do all my hikes solo because I love to just sit down, and either listen to nature (if not above the tree line) or enjoy the views. I can easily turn a 6 hour hike into 10 hours just because I love the peacefulness and the ability to just take my time.
