I almost feel guilty for not having done a Radiohead cover yet, because of their IMMENSE influence on me/music/everyone in the world. Phil Selway, to me, is the epitome of what I like in a drummer. Always tasteful, always plays for the song, but yet is always creative. He is also one of the most underrated drummers of all time, in my opinion. This track is a perfect example of all the traits I listed. Don't even TRY to lie and say that the ride cymbal groove in the second half of this tune isn't one of the coolest grooves... ever.
Radiohead - "Talk Show Host" from the 1995 release "The Bends" is the copyrighted property of its owner(s).
For a video made in 2011 this looks very nice.
Sounds nice too.
I nearly fell out of my seat when you switched to that ride cymbal. The beauty of that thing is unreal.
Same for me. The drumming is pretty simple but combined with the bass it sounds incredible.
Love how you recreated that "boomy" snare tone, for the lack of a better word
The amount of influence your covers have had on my style of drumming is absolutely crazy... You can now catch me listening to some of the weirdest stuff ever and learning the drums to it. I used to think technicality meant everything when playing the drums, but you've come to make me realise how important it really is to just give out a tasty groove. Absolutely LOVE the covers man, PLEASE keep them coming!
your covers are always good dood, but this one was incredible. good job man!
As always...wow! Love it.
Loves this
That snare and ride are insane
So good. Keep the Radiohead covers coming please =)
awesome, one of the best drum parts that Rh have
Wow~ I found your videos searching for drum covers for this song. I was so eager to learn the drums to this song the first time I listened to it. Definitely the coolest beats I've ever heard. And you did such a perfect job!!
okay so, i've seen basically all your videos and you literally are the best guy on youtube
Flawless. Your feel is incredible. Also... your snare is heaven. Nice job man.
Catchy as hell drum beats. Great job bro!
Great cover man. And I like the haircut, looking good :P
lovely drum kit
Your absolutely f%$kin well kicking it in this one man awesome work!...as said before bring on more Radiohead coverage
nice quality, nice song, searching for it, so sad i can only give it 1 damn like, cheers
Amazing A/V quality, but even better drumming. Flawless to say the least.
Thank you!
I think that you are an underratted drummer. And you filming skills for the set is amazing how you produced it. What type of mic's are you using. They sound really good. Profesinal cover, very well done. Better than cobus in my opinion!!
Hey, would you consider emailing me high quality audio files of just your drum part, taking out the original track? I'd love to record the rest of the song over your playing! Cheers
Thanks Evan :-)
Would be dirty to see you do a cover of Reckoner with all of the percussion parts added along with that wonderful drum beat in that song. By the way, great cover here. =]
On a side note would there be a chance you could tell me about what drum heads you use and how you tune your toms. They have such a full sound, something I very much want to achieve on my kit. I hate to be one of those people who ask about gear but I can't help it here.
new headz
You are the man Evan, don't ever forget it! lol Please cover "Hacienda Motel" by Pickwick and "But there's Wolves?" by The Dear Hunter! I think you'd have fun
is this is the theme song for the Romeo and Juliet movie with Leonardo DiCaprio? it sounds ALOT like it
Evan Warren yes it is from romeo and juliet
you can actually find it on the best of album for them. i know thats ridiculously a stretch, but yeah
The pattern at like 2mins reminds me of Bloodbuzz Ohio by The National :D Awesome cover :)
Better than Cobus. A quarter of the views. Justice needs to be done!!
Try Myxomatosis its a ridiculous groove. The time signature is a little hard to distinguish, but it is fun to play.
Nice authentic snare.
Good shit bro
try out Optimistic..the small jam after the song ends grooves hard like this one.
ohhhh men great ... could you send me only drums ?? I'm working with the same song but I wanted to sing it an play guitars
good work :)
I notice you're using the Vic Firth isolation headphones in this video, could you please tell me what they're like as I'm thinking of buying some isolation headphons myself and I'm not sure which ones to buy? Thanks :)
@MrBasementJams Yep yep yep.
Would love just your drum part only so I could play and sing along with
What ride cymbal is that?
What Ride is that.. I only use MEINL and I want that fucking thing..
is the mic on the snare the only one u use
Thom Yorke sings regular melodies. Actually theyre more thought out than regular. Yeah he likes to sing falsetto but really you just dont like the timbre of his voice. Radiohead are a monumental musical force and you shouldnt let Yorkes vocal timbre get in the way of that.
What snare is that?
what kit is that you're using
You've got to fix the description because this song does not actually feature on any of Radiohead's albums. Great cover, though!
B side from the Street Spirit single
Hi frazzer tee hee
You almost make me like Radiohead. But so much whining.
