Not really! GDP is only money spent vs PPP is a better measure. Example Russia is at 2 trillion vs Mexico really close to 2 trillion GDP. Russia is highly sanctioned and has a war and still manages to keep growing faster than Mexico at 5.5 trillions PPP vs 3.6 Trillion. So Mexico will do worse more likely if sanctions are imposed. Let's be humble and work and grow without seeing heavy turbulence in the future!

Impossible for India to pass the USA in nominal GDP by 2050, it can pass in GDP PPP and well before 2050, but certainly not in nominal GDP
Big misconception. Nominal today means in US dollars. With US economy being in 3rd place ( actually, most likely far behind India), reserve currency will be yuan and not a dollar, and nominal and PP for non-western countries will be either same or somewhat less. Simply because it will be nominated in yuans and rupiah

As an Indian, I find it surprising that India is at the number 2 spot. 2050 is way way in the future. Too optimistic for me personally! In my opinion, India may be at number 4 or 3 with a GDP of 20 to 25 trillion USD. India has plenty of structural problems and has never invested much into critical human capital growth like education, population control, healthcare etcetera. Plus, the per capita GDP is still going to be quite low as some Indian states refuse to bring down their population growth curves.
Well we both don't know what will happen in the future.

The current economic model does not support this growth with countries so overpopulated. China and India have almost half of the world's population. Their territories are incapable of sustaining massive exploitation of resources. Sorry to correct you, but you are wrong. Yes, France may now have 68 million population, but the main problem is France now has a declining population growth rate. I am sure you are aware that France's birth rate is now just 1.83! This is well below the replacement of 2.1 (ie. a country needs a birth rate of at least 2.1 per family just to maintain its population). Based on a 1.83 birth rate, France will have suffered a severe population decline by 2050 - in fact, as per some population projectionists it may be even less than 60 million. Unless of course, some radical action is taken by the French Government - such as huge increase in immigration - but this will not be an easy decision to make, because it will have political ramifications and common people may not like it.
Also, I am sure you know that this population decline crisis is a problem faced not just by France, but by most European countries, and also Japan, etc.
