just had my first rip with my new RX. Wow. An absolute beast just on 3S. been living rc since 1976 and this is possibly the most fun I've ever had...and crazy value for money
Yeah other than being top heavy it's definitely an awesome and fun rig. Well worth the money!

Yeah unbelievably that little car is taken several hits off that big ramp with no issues whatsoever. I expected the chassis to do okay but I thought the body would get destroyed pretty much immediately

@@QuinnsRC It's taken multiples of those on the front and back and on the roof. I think there's so much flex in the body mounts that it absorbs a lot of the impact energy.

Yeah they definitely upped their game from the muscle truck and muscle car. That being said those both look pretty good in person too. I was also surprised about how well it did off road. I expected to put it in my backyard and have it just bogged down and have to go somewhere else. It actually handled it all really well. It handles on road reasonably well also as long as you don't have any unreasonable expectations for it :-)

@@R1Jase Maybe. Is a lot less stress on the drivetrain with these smaller tires than with an offer of vehicle so it might actually hold up okay. You might need to upgrade the spur gear to metal though

I agree. If you consider that the max 10 SCT combo in it would cost you 2/3 of the price of the car it's kind of hard to go wrong

Yeah it's got a pretty high CG. The on-road version handles quite a bit better but this one does look better :-)

I want one! Hate it when these rally type cars are really just for the street with little suspension travel or clearance.
All the bearings that I can see are shielded.

Hobby recreation products. They are the main distributor for HPI / Maverick in the US. They've always got a coupon going on You can see it at the top of their site.
I'd say the tires are pretty grippy if you can't slide it on cement!
Yeah they are fairly grippy The car also is kind of high center of gravity though with the tall body.
It needs a sway bar. Do they make one for the truck that will fit this?

Yeah the high CG caused by the body does make it a bit tippy. I wonder if you could get one of the on road car bodies in Mount that to lower the CG.

@@DoRC your video is the only way I knew where to get one in the US. I'll have to mess with the car more and see if I can stiffen the suspension another way. The back squats a lot on acceleration. I've only run 2s so far too. I can't imagine 4s. 😂

Full size cars are smaller than full size trucks so a RC car that's the same physical size as an RC truck would be a larger scale.

Personally id go for the road version, its not great on road or off road, so id prefer something thats actually half decent on road
It's definitely a unique experience. I wouldn't say it's bad off-road. It just takes some finesse to get right.
Also keep in mind that the terrain in the video is far from the ideal terrain for something like this. It's just what I have :-)
The on road cars are sweet too though!

Not impressed with the way this car drives, pretty lackluster and doesn't look fun for the long haul. disappointed HPI 🥺 but I guess if it's that cheap, it's great for newbies and kids getting into the hobby
To be fair the surface I was driving out was far from the ideal surface for this. It's a rally car really is designed for smoother off-road surfaces.
That being said I do agree that it's use cases are fairly limited. It's not great for on-road it's not great for real off-roading so it is kind of a niche product. I think you could fix that though with different tires and a different body for either situation.
