But definitely if they get together or stay friends for a bit he can definitely take her out!!

He invites, he woo's, he makes his interest clear, he gives her space, he does and says things to make her feel special and shows how much he values her, encourages her dreams, goals and purpose and so much more. This is at least part of why she picks him.

Agreed. I am team Lucas (as a hopeless romantic). Jack was very romantic & encouraged her writing & growth, Lucas does that for her. His line about waiting as long as it takes to win Elizabeth’s heart is telling. Also although Erin Krakow & cast have been cagey & careful, one comment in an interview that she made about finding someone who lights her heart, kind of sparks her would seem to indicate Lucas. Nathan is a good guy and Hallmark does have this pattern of their being conflict between the potential lovers in their romance movies so they could flip this. Also there is the matter of Allie too and he is a parent figure. On the other side it would be possibly awkward being both a teacher and a mom figure for Allie. Thing is he REALLY needs to step up his game to change things. I am not sure I can see him doing that enough to win Elizabeth. Then too there is the matter of reintegrating in the town, who is better positioned for that? I just think he needs Elizabeth and Lucas wants Elizabeth but doesn’t need her. So we will see, I can’t wait to find out. Some will be happy some disappointed, I think it could work either way actually depends on how Hallmark plays it!
He's courting her, that's how it works. The man pursues the woman and they get to know each other. She's more than receptive to him -- it's not like it's a one-sided attraction. She's admitted she has romantic feelings for him and sees him as a potential suitor.
