    Thank you!
I'm watching this to help me with making skin cream. I use an almond carrier oil mixed with purified water. I kept storing it in the fridge and seeing the water and oil separate, so I knew I needed to do a deep-dive on the topic.

Hi Belinda I have 2 questions for you:
    1) I have always had doubts about the function of mgso4 and nacl. Thanks to the webinar I finally understood why you can find them in all formulas of W/O emulsions. To stabilize the emulsion, I have to use all 2 or indistinctly one or the other? What percentage?
    2) We talked about specific gelling agents for W/O emulsions, which are the most suitable natural ones? I found out earlier that xanthan gum is not good unfortunately.
Thank you so much for the work you do and the accurate information you provide.

In answer to your questions: 1. you would only use 1, not both. You don't need much, around 0.5%w/w. You don't 'need' it, but it can help if you are having stability issues. 2. water compatible gelling agents won't work, so you need to use oil compatible ones, like stearlkonium hectorite (or similar quaternium clays) or silica dimethyl silylate (if a silicone based emulsion this works very well). Hello, thank you for the information. I see there is an oil and water emulsion for a lotion about three years ago. It did consist of Xanthan Gum. Do you feel the lotion information is still up to date? I am a member. Can I have any information on lotions calculations? Thank you
