Also in this story done for the Today Show is a young Joe King Carrasco playing and talking about his taking the music to the next level that he called Nuevo Wavo or Tex-Mex Rock & Roll.

    Joe "King" Carrasco, what a delightful young. I'm 75, so I know my Country Music! made two discoveries today, score! only knew Flaco, but loved him, from Dwight Yoakam performances. Such a Handsome Young Man, Flaco! I liked the way the young ladies in the video were dressed and loved this young man, Joe's, enthusiasm. Liked his music, almost got out of bed and danced!!

    I just started reading and writing comments. The Music brought me here, The desire to communicate to others with a love of music, All Music! My Mama taught me, You can't say sumthin' nice, then don't say nuthin!! Some of the remarks sound so mean. Too much of a downer, especially after listening to one of my OLD favorites. SMH 😕 So... we all hold the power of in our hands, me not to read and yous not to listen, and that takes care of negative comments. 😊

    The Bajo Sexto looks cross between a 12 String Guitar and a Cello because the body is actually a modified Cello body.

    Being of part German descent you'd think I would like their Polkas (the way they were originally played), but they are way too "White" & Bland for me. In other words - " If it ain't got them spicy 'Red Chili Peppers' mixed in (the Tex-Mex "flavor"), then I ain't interested, period."

    • @falouerba7730
      @falouerba7730 Před 3 lety

      Not all polkas coming from white regions are plain and bland, if you hear the cleveland style polkas in America they can be fun they’re more based from Austro-slovenian polkas from europe These polkas are texano and they come from the mexican style polkas which are different. I recommend listen to Walter ostanek, Frankie yancovik, alex meixner, Lojze Slak, Franc Delcnjak
      I listen to all Texano, Mexican, Cleveland , Slovenian , austrian polka
      POLKA polka has no borders

    I'm not an expert but for me is not the speed but the syncopation what makes them sound different. Except for the newer generations of European accordionists that are incorporating tex-mex and country styles to their music, the difference used to be very notorious.

    Actually its always been the opposite!
    The Germans with their polka accordion bands have always played faster than the Conjuntos from America in Texas "Musica Regional" and the Conjuntos from Mexico "Musica Norteña". The Germans have been doing this since the 1800s and presently. TRUE FACTS!
