I so agree with this, so now a days I’m going off of memory of taste. Last weekend I made a peach cobbler for the first time a double crust from scratch and while it was good I feel it still doesn’t compare to my grandma’s so will be tweaking it some more.

Every pie recipe I've ever seen says you should not put a hot filling into the crust but you did. I think I'm going to try it your way. Apple pie is extremely hard and I've ditched 4 of them so far as I'm teaching myself how to do it because it turns into applesauce.. No problem with any other pie just apple. I'm determined to get this down right. I make my own crust which I do a great job at. It's just that apple pie filling I got to figure it out. This video helped. Thank you!
