"Giant Steps" is pretty damn complex but there are several jazz songs that are more complex. Two good examples are "Refuge" by Andrew Hill and "Nirvana for Mice" by Henry Cow. The latter has a middle section that's in 21/8!
A lot of people play harmonically complex tunes in odd meters to be "hip" or to show off chops but I think 13/8 actually works really well with this especially with the melody on the ascending ii-V section. Bloody well done.

Got off on the chord changes and played some rather "funky" notes when I played a solo. The guy who was leading the band told me, "Great solo." And of course I mentioned my getting lost and played some notes wrong on our last piece and what said stuck with me, "There are no wrong notes in jazz, just odd decisions."

The rhythm for the turnaround is ... (In 8ths) from 0:37 3 from previous measure (split into duplet) + 3 + 3(split into duplet) + 4 + 3 (split into duplet) 3 + 3 (split into duplet) + 4 + 3* (split into duplet, ends the chorus) -- In other words he goes from 8 + 5 To 6 + 7. The reason this works is because the duplet over three 1/8 notes (I marked them with *) remain the end of each measure no matter which groove he's using.

@@iggykad so the video is 1:38 long, and it's in 13/8. Assuming a video is 8 mins long, it must be 8:13. Time signature is proportional to video lenght. So 8/13
