After recently purchasing one of our other classics and having promised his wife that he'd 'rationalise' his collection we're delighted to now offer this third generation model (NC, 2006-2013, designed by Yasushi Nakamuta), Mazda MX-5. Registered by Essex Mazda, Lakeside on the 10th August 2007 to Mr Lowry, this Mazda MX-5 'Icon' edition represents 1 of just 1250 examples built specifically for the UK market and comes with the following specification
- 1.8 litre 16 valve DOHC engine rated at 126bhp.

Having had the pleasure of driving her some 170 miles back to base we're firstly happy to report that this MX-5 performs without fault. With so many cars, think of any modern 'hot hatch' for example, needing 300+ bhp to get the pulse raised its great that the ethos of "simplify, then add lightness!" exists within this generation of MX-5 too. Driving this MX-5 is a huge amount of fun, open the doors, set the supportive 'Icon' embossed seats to the desired position and you're ready to enjoy your next blast. All the controls work exactly as they should, the manual sunroof folds back in a matter of seconds and even on a chilly winters day, with bobbly hat on, its great to hear the 1.8 litre DOHC engine singing away, enjoying the lovely short-throw gearchange, 'go-cart' like steering and razor sharp brakes. With just over 50k miles she remains in great overall condition, save for the odd mark, the Marble white bodywork remains bright, the alloys are in good condition and the interior is free from any noticeable wear and to top it off she's recently had her stereo / head-unit upgraded to Pioneer DAB 'Apple Car play / Android Auto' too
Sold with her supplying dealer wallet, owners manual, 2 keys, a number of MOT's 2011 onwards and invoices confirming servicing at PDI - 4 miles, 2055 miles, 13010 miles, 23334 miles and most recently at 50300 miles (works including, fluids change, filter, 2 x front calipers + pads, rear pads .... plus an upgrade to Eibach sports springs) and now showing just 50,900 miles we feel this Mazda MX-5 is truly one of the few genuine cars that you can enjoy, offering exceptional reliability, comfort, practicality, driver involvement and looks ...... there's not many cars that can offer so much fun on a sub £5k budget.
