    Getting ready for our first twin suns play today.
    Your video was the quintessential reference to get everybody up to speed.

    It looks fun. The best part I think is that none has to wait for an eternity after losing. Deck building also seems an interesting challenge. My God I cant wait to playing SWU

    When choosing 2 leaders from a set of 9, you will only get 36 unique combinations, since e.g. Luke+Leia is the same as Leia+Luke. Unless the order of selection matters, and I don't think that it does.

      You are totally right! I flubbed that math up massively - thank you for the correction!

    Twin Suns looks like it might be my preferred way to play SWU. Ever since watching the FFG stream that introduced it I have been slightly obsessed with theory crafting. I'm very much looking forward to it!

      It's awesome, I hope you dig it! And I'm really looking forward to when the card pool expands more!

    I am looking forward to play this with my friends! I feel like a lot of comparisons can be made to a certain other game with a very similar format but it looks like this could still be a totally different experience.

    • @MaindeckGames
      @MaindeckGames  Před 4 měsíci +2

      And I still enjoy playing certain other game formats too! But getting use Star Wars characters, the clean game end rules, and finding fun two leader combinations all makes me super pumped to play this!

      @@MaindeckGames yes. I am feeling the same! As a big star wars fan I really hope for this game to be successful. I really think they did a great job with the rules and the card designs. It is really a step forward since they made Star Wars Destiny and with the gamegenic cooperation I really have the hope this game will get long term support. I am really looking forward to play this game and all the different formats soon.
      Thanks for making these compact informative videos!

    Ok, I am genuinely exited now to try the game given most of our games feature 3-5 players.
    I love the format of your videos.

    I'm kinda sad that I can't do a Boba and Han odd couple deck in Twin suns. 😂
    I've made a Han & Chewie Jedha and a Hera & Sabine Dagobah.
    Jyn and Cassian with Echo was fun, too.
    Gonna try the Krennic & Grand Inquistor though. Sounds fun.

    I know this is not necessarily something that's being thought of yet by FFG, but I wish they would come out with a digital version of SW:U (perhaps on Steam or mobile). Sometimes, I just can't get together with people to play face-to-face.

  • @junosynth

    Can you do a teams 2 vs 2 Twin Sun format?

  • @ianoble

    When you showed a screenshot that was scrolling down a list of cards in a deck (7:13), what website is that from?

  • @jkajakp
    @jkajakp Před 3 měsíci +1

    At 7:15 you say you can only "play" one copy of a card. At 7:55 under deck building rules it says you can only have 1 copy of each card in your deck. Is there somewhere this is clarified? Can we have multiple copies in a deck and only have one in play at a time or is it just straight up one in the deck?

    • @MaindeckGames
      @MaindeckGames  Před 3 měsíci +1

      My apologies for using "play" there as shorthand - your deck may only *include* one copy of each card. That's the rule!

  • @Ryguy0707
    @Ryguy0707 Před 3 měsíci

    If player 1 is playing Boba, and player 2 defeats a unit from player 3, can player use Boba Leader ability during someone else's turn, since his ability isn't an Action

    • @MaindeckGames
      @MaindeckGames  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes. This is a Triggered Ability, so it can happen at any point. Much like you are able to get your When Defeated triggers during an opponent's action (otherwise, they wouldn't be very good!), you can get Boba Fett Leader's trigger during any opponent's action so long as the condition is met.

  • @matiasnl
    @matiasnl Před 4 měsíci

    Clarification on how I read the pass mechanic from the website:
    You cannot take the pass action if there is another legal action you could take instead, and any of the 3 tokens are unclaimed during your turn.

    • @MaindeckGames
      @MaindeckGames  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The wording on the website article is poor - having played with devs, you are not *forced* to take actions, you may still pass at any point even if you, for example, have attackers available or cards to play. In practice, there's no reason you would not take one of the tokens instead of passing, though.
      I'm sure when the rules reference is up for Twin Suns the wording will be clarified :)

    • @SeanAsbury
      @SeanAsbury Před 4 měsíci

      @@MaindeckGames This is good to know. The website reads as though you are forced to take all available actions and play all cards from your hand if you have resources available.

    I think as more sets are released, Twin Suns is going to become a really popular format. Especially given the popularity of other multiplayer tcg formats *cough commander cough*. I do appreciate that the game ends when one person is defeated. It completely changes the politics and prevents someone from just getting steam rolled out of the game. I can dig it.
