  • Little Patrick was found on 3/17/16 in Warren, MI. Warren Animal Control Officer, Lisa Taylor, spotted him in an empty lot after receiving a phone call about a loose dog.
It was obvious from this boy’s coat that he hadn’t had any sort of care for a long time. Patrick could be a lost pet who’s been on his own for years, or a woefully neglected dog who was lucky to get out of wherever he was.
It took an hour under sedation to see the real dog underneath the enormous mats.
Patrick is still learning what it means to trust a human. But he’s come a long way in 2 weeks. He’s gaining self-confidence, learning boundaries and lets his foster momma, Amanda, touch him.
At first he would only eat from Amanda’s hand. Then he started eating from a bowl. He became overly food aggressive, but through regular meals and training, he’s figured out he doesn’t have to guard his dish. He’s also quickly recognized that he can train a human. He waits by the door to let you know it’s time for business. He’s a quick learner!
Slowly but surely, Patrick will also learn that there’s more than one good human in this world. When the wounds of his past have healed, we’ll be excited to tell the rest of Patrick’s story.
