    I would've shat my pants if I ever saw this game in an arcade as a kid.

    exactly! and the cps 1 and 2 emulators for psp are some of the most well executed emulators ever! fantastic. If only every other emulator on psp was that good.

  • @merkreflektion
    @merkreflektion Před 10 lety +1

    They are all canon (none of them are spinoffs) but the most canon out of the 3 would be this one (ssf2 /ssf2x), running at the proper speed, characters are all original sprites (which the other versions built upon), music is original etc. Closest thing to the arcade.

    and the emulator is no joke, of the highest quality releases out there! And the equaly nice neo geo emulator they made. The best thing about the psp, is the aspect ratio,displays the cps games perfectly (cps is widescreen, not 4:3)

    The dreamcast version is the absolute best port ever hands down
    if you don't mind 4 face buttons and 2 shoulder but

      @alexojideagu Před 10 lety +1

      Look up Marvel V Street Fighter on Saturn It's perfect with no loading. They could have done it with this if they used the 4mb expansion.

    • @shalpp
      @shalpp Před 10 lety +1

      It wasn't needed though the game can be played with the stock ram of the Saturn

    • @alexojideagu
      @alexojideagu Před 10 lety +1

      Why am I Shalpp?
      My point is you didn't need a Dreamcast, the Saturn was more than capable of a perfect port, if they had used the 4Mb ram without the loading times.

    • @shalpp
      @shalpp Před 10 lety +1

      This was made during the Capcom Generations series or s/t probably before the RAM expansions were being used
      and i'm pretty sure you could attribute the loading times to disc read, etc.
      And don't forget the compression on the sound effects. While very slight, it's still there. Meanwhile by the time the Dreamcast came around there was already MvC1 on it, so there's a perfect CPS2-base engine to work with.
      The closest thing you'd get to an arcade-perfect port on Saturn hardware is if the game was ported to Sega Titan-V cause of carts and not discs.

      Why am I Shalpp? Well most anyone serious would’ve had an arcade stick and mitigated that completely. But yeah the DC SSF2X was the best port of the game ever at that time. Had the best visuals, dipswitches that added features, the most arcade accurate gameplay of all the ports, and was the only port up to that time that got the Q Sound stereo separation right.

    doesnt the background on the options screen scroll? did you pause the video so it wouldnt show you lowering the difficulty?

    • @RageQuitter87
      @RageQuitter87  Před 7 lety +2

      No, it doesn't scroll in this version. You are thinking of the SNES and Genesis versions:

    Grand master challenge is called turbo here in the states right?

    • @Theshark15z
      @Theshark15z Před 8 lety +1

      +Colton Mask Yes but in the North American release of Street fighter Collection it was called Street Fighter 2 X grand master champion.

    • @Bloodreign1
      @Bloodreign1 Před 5 lety +1

      No, it was called Super Street Fighter II Turbo in the US release. The Grandmaster Challenge tag was only for Japanese releases.

  • @merkreflektion
    @merkreflektion Před 10 lety +1

    GBA one is definetelly a remake, does not have the feel of the original.
    HD? It follows the same story line, so one could say it's canon.
    But yea, these versions (psx/ss) are the closest thing to the arcade. Especially the saturn with it's ram cart allowing for extra frames of animation : ) The 3do version is nice too, but it's not arcade perfect, the music is not the original QSound score, whereas these collection versions have it. Im assuming also that they run at the proper framerate!

    • @Darknight0681
      @Darknight0681 Před 6 lety +2

      merkreflektion This game did not use the RAM cart, and while it’s definitely better than the 3DO version, it’s still nowhere close to arcade perfect. The resolution being one of the biggest problems, and the total butchering of the Q Sound stereo separation was another big thing. Then there’s all the gameplay inaccuracies.

  • @TheRealDustinNunn
    @TheRealDustinNunn Před 6 lety +6

    The Saturn version of SSF2T/SSF2X is superior because the gameplay, music, sounds, voices and animation are 100% accurate to it's arcade counterpart.

    • @Darknight0681
      @Darknight0681 Před 6 lety +2

      Dustin Nunn Every home port up until the Dreamcast failed to replicated the Q Sound stereo separation of the arcade games. When put side by side with the actual arcade game the difference is readily apparent. Every home port until the DC SSF2X also had radically altered gameplay compared to the arcade too. 2MB was not enough for these conversions at all.
      And then there’s the Saturn resolution issue with affected EVERY CPS2 port. Even the BEST ones. The “larger sprites” in these ports were a result of the Saturn not having the proper complete horizontal resolution for the games. In actuality, everything should’ve been slightly thinner and more condensed. Instead you’d have parts of the visuals cut off on both sides of the screen, and often either health bars were shrunk, player pictures were moved, or BOTH. In this case, health bars are shrunk.

    • @Darknight0681
      @Darknight0681 Před 6 lety +1

      BadSkies to be expected on this hardware given the fact it doesn’t use the RAM cart. That said it’s not too terrible.

  • @merkreflektion
    @merkreflektion Před 10 lety

    Haha, same here, but with the exception of the ex series (big time fighting game junkie). Yea this is pretty much arcade perfect. Hyper street fighter 2 is also another good one. 3rd strike has to be my favorite.

    I have Super street fighter 2 turbo on my computer emulator....WHY IS THIS GAME SO HARD FOR ME...even on the easiest setting i can't get past the first fight. But when I'm playing Super street fighter 4, i can beat Seth on Hardest.....with Dan.

    • @DjVanHeb
      @DjVanHeb Před 9 lety +2

      because old games were more strict and took more skills to play. The inputs were harder... the window you had to do reversals was WAY more tight than in SF4.But don't worry, the A.I. was also cheap. Beating the CPU on any difficulty doesn't mean anything tbh. Playing against real people will make you better. ANyways, practice is key.

      +TheSupersonicfan7 Super Turbo (US version) is the hardest SF2, the CPU reads all your moves similar to games like Mortal Kombat 2 or SNK fighters.

      Tip, Japanese arcade versions are easiest to play.
      They have less difficulty level !.
      Make a comparison.
