  • We’re back at Mudbots in Utah to look at their batch plant mixers. Many people say the batch plant mixers are the future of automating construction because it removes the necessity for a person to tend to the mixer pump system. It also allows for data collection and easier fine tuning of the mini accelerant and additives that you use for your Printed Concrete mix.

The content of this video and exposition (process, costing, local sourcing, automated batching, mandatory training) is going to be a turning point in the history of 3d-printing for civil engineering - mark my words. Hats off to Jarett and to Mudbots too.

I love how complete their system is. They have really thought it out end to end, all the way to recycling any waste.

Very cool! Need to print a few more layers for Kyle.

I wonder if all the 3d printing construction company founders watch this channel. They probably do.
Anyway. You've timed this channel perfectly. You're going to be the Rob Maurer of the 3d printed construction revolution. Or maybe there was someone before him. Idk, but you're the first one here. Your channel is going to explode right along with the whole industry. The audio in this video is dramatically better than previous videos. Keep it up

There are enormous posibillity in concrete printing together with other technologies!
Just do a search on how to create precast elements for the floors and loadbearing parts and 3 D print the rest?

Timed vibrators can help with bridging issues. Lining the bins with plastic plating can help as well.

Hey Jarett, look into getting some lapel mics or something that will only pick up the person speaking and filter out the background noise. I know these are working industrial environments and people can’t stop working for the video, but it can be very distracting to have all that noise in the background.

Yeah I need a better mic solution maybe even something specific for industrial environments

True. I work at competitor and consistent mixes are a real challenge . Looks like a good setup though. What i want to know is the additives or material mix toxic to health. Thats a concern for me.

Imagine a false set will really raise hell with things. I understand that can happen when the kiln gets too hot at the cement plant.

Can't he put air fluffers in those material bins? I think that would help with the bricking condition he's talking about.

A bunch of hype.. They only want to deal with General Contractors. (They don't care about us smaller companies).. what a joke.
