Me too!!! I just don’t get it. I also love Vegas but I don’t drink or gamble. I just love the experience: lights, food, people watching and lots of free things like I can watch the fountains forever and last minute cheap shows (no so cheap these days but still can find last minute deals and often if during non peak season during the weekdays you can buy nosebleed seats and ushers will move you up. Of course never expect that but a sweet gesture when offered) But I can not understand spending money on games. lol 😂

As for fake nails and eyelashes… they can be tempting sometimes, but I see the price and say NO TY. IT IS QUITE simple really, we are both retired, no kids at home, all middle aged now, savings in the bank and we have been doing the same thing for 52 years of our marriage.
I so prefer cooking a nice dinner, sitting at the table with just the two of us, no noise of people talking at the next table and music, one does not like, blaring from the speakers around. If we go out I prefer to take a picnic basket with food I prepared than buying stuff from an outlet that I do not know what is in it and how it is cooked.
This year I have a problem as hubby decided to go on a three week holiday to a neighbouring country. His first holiday for the last 14 years, he tells me that we will buy ready food and I must admit I hate that idea. I am already planning on dragging my trusted thermos for coffee/tea and looking at grocery outlets along our way. 50 years+ is not easy to get adjusted to another approach.

I have a favorite jacket that is made of pho leather and having replaced it through thred up or poshmark several times, it either arrives already bubbled or starts to within a month. That same brand new jacket cost the same as the replacements but lasted 7 years of frequent wear until I lost it somewhere. Also time is money. Great list! My kid is super frugal. He learns it from his school. He has good Tshirts (good brand i.e. Nautica) bought during clearance sale. After worn for years as "cool" outing tshirts & faded, it's downgraded to home tshirts, when it's really thin, it's downgraded again to sleeping tshirts, once it's holey & almost shredded, it's downgraded to a rag to wipe windows, car, etc. I couldn't stand this kid 😂, but also admire & proud of his frugal habit.

I refuse to pay for a Smartphone, cable tv, getting my nails done, new cars warranties and bottle water as well. I bought a stainless steel Berkey water filter many years ago and filter all of our water for drinking, cooking, carrying with me. My four budget planned splurges are 1) my rescue dog, 2) my every 6-8 week $40.00 haircut and 3) our organic food for our health. For years I went to the beauty school for a cheap haircut but the cut was awful, so I put a good haircut into my budget. 4) I also buy a Best Buy total membership annual fee. I'm age 73 and I no longer have the ability to keep my Laptop and our TV's in good working order. Having this membership has saved me SO MUCH money in repairs, updates, new purchases and keeping the technology running.

Reverse osmosis is great; however, the filter is expensive! Now I have 5-gallon water dispenser. The hot water saves a lot of time for a hot tea or hot cocoa. No need to boil water. The water is always cold. I use the fridge water for other things, like coffee. Amazon Prime is great! You get free deliveries plus free movies…also has free e-books and audio books and music! I get cable…hardly go to the movie theater. So I watch movies at home, at my own pace…Shopping on-line is a time-saver! You can control your spending when you see how much you put in your cart. Then decide whether it is a need or a want…not because it is on sale. Sometimes, it sits in the cart for days and end up not buying anything! ❤❤❤

Back in 1992, I moved out of the house and was on my own. I didn't have 2 dimes to rub together and I had this old Zenith radio that I snapped on and listened to an old AM radio station. There was this guy talking that had used debt to fuel his real estate empire. He was the youngest licensed real estate agent in the state of Tennessee when this happened. Apparently the bank he had this financed through got sold to "huge gigantic bank" and they saw this 26-year-old kid with millions in debt. They called in all of his notes, he couldn't pay them and had to declare bankruptcy and drive a 1978 Cadillac with the vinyl top flapping in the breeze. I decided I wouldn't do that and didn't. I don't remember the guy's name off-hand but I think this girl is kin to him. GREAT VIDEO!
