This is why I love math, science, mechanics, and engineering... regardless of your personal beliefs, your stuff works or it doesn't. It's elegant or not. It's functional or not. It's efficient or not. All else is BS.

I made 3 different circle cutter jigs and this is the best. Simple and small. I had to make a plate for my router because it did not have a place to screw this into but it was still very easy.

I watched the steady rest you made using this jig. I have a old Makita trimmer router and needed to cut a large ark on a three foot garden gate, rigged something simple to do it but after watching this I'm definitely going to make one. Thanks again for the inspiration, great workmanship :-)

You can make a drill press with your router ,when you finish your lathe

I was thinking if you attached an internally threaded rivet nut to the workpiece with double sided tape, you could leave the steel peg out the center block and just use a hole. A large flanged rivet nut would hold more tape. Used carefully, this would allow you to cut a disc without a hole in the center.

i have another idea. fix your larger router to the underside of your workbench. then route out a very thin 1mm rebate from edge of workbench up to the front edge of the router bit. glue in a steel ruler. then 5mm to the left of the ruler add s 1mm pin hole. you can then turn the wood around a central pivot as asposed to running the router around the wood.

    Thank you.

Long nut to connect two threaded rods, Insert nut, threaded rod, a wing bolt, a cube of wood piece is all you need to make this.

I love the "simple" jig, first you need a belt sander, a drill press, then dremel, .while you are at it, buy a second router too..
