Commander masters is definitely overpriced. Also we need more reprints of mana crypt and mana vault. The same way we get sol ring on a regular basis.

I was watching the early pack openings, and Fierce looks so good in borderless foil, so I’m stoked to pick that up as a single when it bottoms out.
Screw the prices of this set.
If you don't want to shell out for deflecting swat there is a uncommon called Bolt Bend that is pretty simple to turn on and very effective replacement for the expensive version.
I drafted a LOT of original Ravnica. Between draft chaff and trading for bulk rares I ended up with three dozen doubling seasons. When they first started gaining price I sold them all to a dealer at a big event for 25 dollars each. Yeah, they are worth a lot more now, but I turned 0.12 cents (the bulk rare price at the time) X 36 into nearly a thousand dollars. I call that a win.
We need a set market price upon release so things don't go up hundreds before release.
Obscuring has is the most slept on card from the cycle of free spells as long as you're commander is on board.
The medallions got super cheap too, I picked up pearl and jet for under $23 total
My buddy and i bought precons yesterday. He got a copy of Fiercr Guardianship. I got disappointment... but then proceeded to whoop his sliver deck with my eldrazi deck so it was all good in the end
My personal opinion on Doubling Season is wait for Wilds of Eldraine as I feel the basic art will see a sell off for the new arts...
What would happen to the secondary market if WotC picked 2 or 3 cards, say Smothering Tithe, Doubling Season and Cyclonic Rift and made the chances 1 in 3 of getting one of those commander staples in a booster.
Everyone would buy the boosters and "expensive" cards would be kept in check in case it ever happened to them.
Win, Win, Win except for the secondary market which would cry foul over prices being cut on everyrhing.
Not gonna lie I'm juiced for all the full art spells and creatures I'm slowly getting to a full art deck.
Always remember: the cost to print a standard set and a "premium" set is exactly the same! It could even be cheaper to reprint as the design is much less taxing and you dont need new art for every card! Dont let them charge us more money for the same product.
Proxy, proxy proxy proxy!!!!! If you're not playing in tournaments you have no use for real cards and the purity culture that some players have around the same (sometimes superior due to cardstock if you buy from places like MPC) product does NOTHING but line Wizards' greedy bottomless pockets.
Can we please stop feeding into wizards narrative, if it’s priced as a premium product it IS a premium product “not meant” for your average wallet (or player)
People didn't want reprints of fierce guardiasnhip and deadly rollick since they launched. They wanted them after some sets without reprints. People don't want reprints of a card just released, it comes after a while lol
Kinda weird but then again they were within the precon commander sets and it’s a hassle to just buy a precon that you won’t use.

The professor explained it very well in his latest video. The high price tag acts as a barrier for the individual card price and this is intended. Because the booster boxes are so expensive, less people will buy it and the really valuable cards like Doubling Season will mostly retain their value.

How low do you think the free spells will go? Ie Fierce Guardianship and deflecting SWAT? Deflecting SWAT is a $35 - $45 card at the moment, how low do you think this card will go?

I doubt it’ll go under 15 and then it’ll go up after that again. It’s basically the closest thing red has to a force of will and that card is freaking bonkers.

Lmao, if you think free spells are “staples” then yall playing cedh and not edh. I like the content and channel, but lets be 100% here; basic lands, creatures, ramp, and card draw are staples….everything else is extra; especially free spells and high end cards (fast mana is not casual nor staple either). Edh can be played cheap, without any card over $2, and still have a good working deck; anyone can grab a precon and use that for low power games instead of pubstomping, etc, but alas we have only 1 casual format, and everyone trying make it like modern. Leave edh casual!!
