    the newer bikes with slacker headtube angles make you have to ride further forward to push your weight into the fork and make the tire grip the trail which for some of us coming from other disciplines feels more natural. the downside is always that you cant back away from the front on steeper things otherwise you lose the front wheel and get bucked around more. so i see it as catering to people that can adapt to that style.

    from my view I would say your riding looks much more composed and not so nervous like on the meta

    Miss seeing the meta on here but saw you got yourself a clash. That's a sick bike man! Would love to see some content with that. (even tho it's not a HT)

    I have this frame, I'm 5'8" so went with the medium I wish I had went with the medium+, even though the measurements for the medium should be good (according to my other bikes) something felt off, felt crammed & like I was being forced over the front to much.
    I really don't like the small headtube, my other bikes I run between 10-25mm stack & to get the stylus feeling like it wasn't pulling me over the front I've had to stack stem to 40mm, increase stem from 40mm to 60mm & also put 38mm rise bars on it to get it feeling good (note this is with 160mm fork the recommended size)
    Another thing not to like about the small headtube (105mm including cane creak headset that came with frame) if you do run with low stack & you trim the steerer down to be neat, that fork is potentially ruined for fitting on another bike.

    This went better than I was anticipating. lol I figured you'd hate it based on the comments you kept making about not liking Chromag bikes. Those preconceived notions will get to you! That said, it will take some getting used to being that it's longer, slacker and a little heavier than the Meta. You definitely look more composed though. I'm curious to hear your thoughts after you ride it a little more. Comparing this frame to the SC Chameleon and the Meta, I found it much more supple. A lot less small bump chatter through the frame...most likely because of the steel. Did you notice anything like that? Sweet bike either way. Keep shredding man. Love the content.

      SC chameleon aluminum or carbon ? I find the aluminum slightly suppler than the wideangle i have, but definitely both much more supple than the meta

    • @urg0nnah8me

      @@gusgonzalez1338 I had the aluminum. I have a hard time trusting carbon.

      @joelocalab Před 3 lety

      Steel is definitely more forgiving and has better chatter dampening than aluminum but it also depends on how the tubes are designed. In my opinion if you're going to ride a hardtail on aggressive trails steel and titanium are the only way to go for frame materials

    Your knees are so much closer to the handle bars because of the slack angle to.

      I’m that guy who shuttles whistler on my Hardtail with a group of 170mm enduro bikes and can still hang , live on Vancouver island , had more then a few good yard sales and had to walk off the hill due to a messed up frame , I’ll ride the paint off my steel hardtail just keeps surviving..... compliant light frames to me are waaaaay to weak for shralping the pacific north west ,
