  • The header leak is fixed and the SS is sounding better than ever! The car has BBK shorty headers and stock pipes that lead to the Flowmaster 40 Series mufflers on each side.

    Loved! Loved to see these as a kid. Sad to see less of them now. Bravo.

    Only if your vids came out a while back I would have picked up a set of bbk headers on facebook market place for 180 bucks and tried the install myself, they were re-done but the labor costs from the exhaust shop was steep so didn't go for it

    • @MidnightBlue98
      @MidnightBlue98  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah I contemplated them as well because I knew it was going to be super expensive having a shop do them for me. I ended up just pulling the trigger on them and my buddy helped me take them off and prep for the install. Aside from the headers, I only paid $120 for the converters to be welded back.

      @@elhadjiseck9033 it’s probably because of your cats since you don’t have them, but that’s just my guess. Since you have no cats, I’d recommend the 40 series delta flow. Hey hey I have a 96 Impala SS. I got it from someone who put Hooker Headers on it. I'd like to switch to BBK headers b/c the 'Cookers' are burning holes in my coolant lines. Does your BBKs provide enough clearance for your coolant hoses?

    • @MidnightBlue98
      @MidnightBlue98  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, I haven’t had any issues with the coolant hoses. I did have issues with the ac lines though so I recommend heat wrapping your passenger side header and your ac lines to avoid any headaches.

    How much horse power did the heads air and did you feel the difference

    • @MidnightBlue98
      @MidnightBlue98  Před 2 lety +1

      I’d say it picked up about 15ish on power. It definitely feels different and quicker. I do also like how deeper of a tone the engine has but honestly it depends on your tuner. A great tuner will almost give you 20, so about 15-20 universally.

      @@daireonorlando1444 if you live in a state where smogs won’t be an issue, go with clear image long tube headers. The best bang for your buck!! They’re a bit pricier but they’re the best ones hands down from all the research I’ve done. BBKs are good for a budget, but make sure you get your headers ceramic coated to keep the temps lower.
