One of the few businessmen/business owners who is open and honest about how much money he puts into deals and bikes and profits or loses. I respect and appreciate that
Not disclosing the details and numbers about how your business works isn't dishonest, it's good business sense.
All you haters. The man is telling you his story. Proof hard work and a plan will always bring success.
He's a hardworker. I like to work smarter. I also like to work with my hands. Resto mods are very popular these days so you can buy old basket cases and turn them into nice bikes for cheap because you aren't doing a factory spec restoration. I have no need to outsource machining, welding and painting, things which quickly turn a project bike expensive for countless builders.
I live in AZ. That's close enough to sell bikes in the SoCal area. It is arguably the largest recreational motorcycle market in the world.
Making $50k a year building and selling 4-5 bikes and not having to be a licensed dealer sounds much better.
Awesome Shit
@@skorpius752 but you're not doing that. So sit down and shut up
I’m sure his hard work helped but all things are possible when u have the lord Jesus Christ on your side
The only reason I know he is saying something real is I’ve watched him when he was small and not a whole lotta bikes and now he has 50 plus lmao
I’m starting a small dealership in Perth, Australia selling Japanese cruisers. Have bought 10 bikes, have the premises, just waiting on my dealers licence to come through and it’s full steam ahead. Basically you’ve inspired me to follow my dream Sean 👍
Thinking about doing the same thing, but bringing in from America, have connections in the import trade (cars) and would like to develop some connections with someone like SRK, have to see what happens
infinitreality you in Australia bud?
@@greenyscruisers3033 Yes I am
infinitreality cool bud. Perth also?
@@greenyscruisers3033 No, in Sydney, but plan to go into business with my brother in law on the Gold Coast
Thanks for tell us your story. Always glad to hear how someone made it!
I bought a xv750 virago for $200. Stripped it, chopped the frame and made a bobber out of it. Made $1000 off the bike.
I’d like to buy non running bikes and get them running and flip them.
Great advice, as a hobby the last 9 years I have been flipping stereo equipment my best months I can do $8,000 a months out of my garage part time. Like your story (motorcycles) I grew up with a passion for stereo's and audio equipment, as a teenager I was into car audio and later the more expensive high-end home audio. Its like I get to play with my toys all day. I once worked for a very wealthy gentleman that bought and sold Ferrari's as a hobby. One day I ask how he gets his wife to go along with it. His reply changed my life forever- He said he had owned more than 25 Ferrari's over the years and had never lost a dollar, he always makes money. Ten years ago I could not convince my wife that I need to spend $200 on a pair of speakers. Today I have a $50-60,000 personal horde of collectible vintage and high-end audio., not to mention my rotating stock. I am comfortable buying or investing in anything I know I will make money on, I get to enjoy it while its in my position then I make money on it. My collection is like a bank account my wife can't spend :)
Thanks for the tips man, I’ve been buying and selling for fun since I was a kid but now am looking to up my game and see some big numbers. Thanks for the vid man

Great insight into the bike shop and how to start up. Thanks Sean and the team.
Great video & awesome points. You earned a new sub! 👍
Super neat video/expo, Sean. Love the story. Love the test ride vids, love the words of wisdom. Keep doing what you're doing, bro.
Priceless information here!! Really appreciate you sharing and your honesty!! I have recently started but on a very small scale here in California. I like the dealer aspect and will keep you posted on how it goes. Big thanks SRK!
Me and a buddy of mine were in the Rims/Wheels flipping business, back in the good old days when cars came with basic steel rims. We used to buy good condition used sets of Rims for $300-$500 for a set of 4, and sometimes flip it the same day for $750-$850. Some flips, we made good money and some we probably made just $100. But after a while, we figured out that the key was BUYING, we wanted to buy a set of wheels for as low as possible zero if we can, then we could sell it for whatever price we wanted. Selling is never a problem, buying was key. The hustle was fun. Good times.
Thank you Sean and I'm glad you are giving insight from something that you actually did yourself
Not everything has to be an argument or debate if the info he shares can help you awesome take it, if you don’t want it or don’t think you can use it then leave it and keep your negativity to yourself there is already enough of that in this world. On another note, thank you Sean for your knowledge, wisdom and all the awesome content. 👍🏻 I wish you blessings and peacefulness
I tried this once. Bought a 79 CX500 in pieces, put it together, got it running and sold it. Took about a year and made about $500 on the deal.
So your time was worth nothing?
So what
I lost $500 a bike, but made it up on volume.

Thanks for the informative info man , respect, keep up the great work, Ps; taking your advice!
Cool! Great message Shawn. Best Vince
Thanks Sean for all the information you give us
You the man shawn, thanks for this!👌
Some great ideas thank you for the info.
We looking forward to your recovery and getting back on them motorcycles!! 😎
Rev up youritorcycles!!🛵💨💨
Love your video's but dam brotha did u need 4 lights in the back ground lol
Back in August, I bought a bike where the main wiring harness got a short to ground through a +12V wire. Melted quite a bit of wiring. I got a $60 eBay used harness and swapped it out. Made a cool $1500 on that bike! Well, minus labor. But I usually sit around on my rear end anyway, so no loss. :) Remember, cash is king, buy desirable bikes, and make sure the numbers match on that title!
Thanks for posting the video 👍🏽
Hey Sean, how do you transfer a couple bikes at a time. I don't have a trailer but I do a old 16 goot uhaul with a ramp and may buy a 3500 van. Thanks!
This was amazing! Thank u!
Thanks Sean, that was great!
Thanks for this video. It's your best video.
Glad I came across this, Good into man 💯
it took me 10 years of mistakes and not being serious about it to learn that the key to being successful is constantly looking for deals. None stop. have cash. And always low ball and go up. If you can’t double your money then it’s not a good deal. and no matter what don’t give up 💪🏼
When you purchase from a private seller for the dealer, do you leave the title blank and pass it on to them or do you fill it out on behalf of the dealer when you first pick it up from the private seller? I'm guessing you don't write your own name since you can only legally sell 5 bikes in a year.
Just found this channel and have been binge watch Ming videos lol. What bike are you sitting on in this picture?
Great info, great tips thanks
Interesting video Sean. Hope all is well.
Make 50k selling Motorcycles easy.......first start with 100k....
John Thomas what are you talking about?? I’m not a motorcycle seller at all, but I’ve always managed to make money when selling any of my bikes and it’s not rocket science
@@louiedelatorre1667 Good for you!
@@louiedelatorre1667 How?
@@johnthomas2587 Yeah man it aint rocket appliances
You need money to make more money. Period. Unless you inherit money or property and use that to start your business. That said money is only half the battle ,motivation dedication and a lot more are needed daily to keep it all going.
Love your videos thank you I’m in the uk and want to get into buying and selling
Hey Sean, I've owned lots of bikes, some for longer than other haha But I've never bought one with the direct intent to resale. Although each state may have different regulations, in a case like you've described here, do you have to transfer the title before selling to them or do you hand them the previous title with your Bill of Sale?
Love the videos man!
True in any business: put in the hours, accept and learn from mistakes, deal honestly while planning for the Long Game and most importantly: KNOW your customer's needs!
Hey Sean what bikes are you looking for this week
Cool story Sean. ! I would love to do that over here in Manitoba Canada! We have a short riding season though. So not sure how well that would do..
One detail that you only sort of touched on - When you bought a bike to then sell to the dealership - Are you doing the paperwork to officially buy the bike only to turn right around and sell it to the dealership? Or were you bringing them bikes with, say, titles signed by the seller but no mention of your name? Here in Mass a title search takes at least a month, so if the bike was in my name even for a minute, I wouldn't be able to close with the dealership and would have to sit on the bike until the title came in. Plus at that point you have to have the bike insured prior to registration, you have to pay for plates, etc etc.
Wow. Very interesting, I appreciate you being honest
Great video, but how to you manage the tax, title and registration or can you by pass all of that by transferring the title to the dealer? I would think after buying the motorcycle, you get the blue title, sign the back of it, then transport the bike to dealer, and then sign the title over to dealer or it there more to it? I need details, man, Details!
Suffice to say, there seems to be truth in the saying that "success in life is measured by how many awkward conversations you're willing to have".
So when you buy a bike to flip ,, do you register it under your name? And obviously you need some kind of transport to transport the bike to your garage or dealership right?
Thank you SRK. I'm on a similar path but my passion is electric bicycles
I'm near Fort Bragg; why is it I drove all the way to PA for my bike? Just kidding lots of sport bikes and Harley's around these parts. Good advice for people looking to get in the business.
One issue now which did not exist years ago is related to some dealers not being able to buy anything but HD. Harley dealers can't have any other brands on the floor, same as with Indian and the late Victory. So you have to seek out the independants that sell all brands or multiple brands. And getting a dealer license is a must. I just got mine so now I can by insurance and other crashed bikes which is the ultimate way to buy great bikes cheap. Most of the bikes I buy cost less than $100 to fix and once done can flip to recoup 2 or 3 times the original purchase price.
Good Job!
Thanks for sharing Bro!
Is your website down? I can't seem to find any of your inventory
Thank you for this.
I'm doing this now working around my regular 9-5. It takes time, but I've been doing alright. selling 2-3 units a month and making $500 -$2000 each depending on how good a deal I get. I want to do this full time, but it's scary to make the move and give up the security of a full time job.
You could always switch to a part time job so you can have a little financial security but more time.
I've seen a similar business model applied to cars, also with small tractors and implements. You have to identify what dealers want and try to find a source population. It helps to have mechanical knowledge and a small shop to fix small issues and minor cosmetic problems.I
It can be up and down, you may do great one month and nothing the next month. You will work pretty hard to make any significant money.
Thank you, Sean!
This is my current goal in life start a dealership and help get people back into this life style
yup, it takes patience, determination, the proper contacts, the right area and a little bit of money.
Great guy!! 🤜🤛
thanks, still dreaming about this business.
I’m just starting into the flipping business. Can somebody tell me how to evaluate bikes? How do I know if I’m buying/selling for the right price. Any advice I’ll appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
If your buying for the sole purpose of bringing to a dealer straight away to buy do you actually need to register it and pay the tax on it. I’m guessing since you have to sign the title when you buy it from the owner then that’s why?
You've been blessed my Brotha
By whom?
You can only buy and sell 5 motorcycles in a year in Pennsylvania? I thought it was 12 before you had to have a dealer license? What if you have multiple people who can make the sale? Say I already flipped my 5, could my wife do the same thing?
Bad ass video. Thank you.
You’re a legend mate
I am in Kenya. I don't have a Superbike but owning one is my dream. Anyway your channel informative. I watch it everyday anytime am free to learn more about motorcycle
Last year bought a cbr600rr for 2600 and sold it three months later for 4000. 1400 profit. Now I'm hooked and I keep buying motorcycles when I see a great deal. Great side hustle. Plus, you get paid to ride some badass bikes.
Do you transfer the bike into ur name? Or do you keep it on the other persons
Thinking about maybe trying this out.
Can you try this bike from whole sale bc i want one and i dont wanna buy it if its not good
I like SRK. He is not some stuck up dude like Richard Rawlings. Its his opinion and usually entertaining.
This is perfect!
It's hard work. Nothing worth doing is ever easy. It does sound like immense fun with a bit of adventure and meeting new characters. Quite tempted to buy an old snotter (English term for old bike in poor condition but ridable) and try to make 50 quid, and so on.
Would you recommend buying bikes from individuals that does not have title in hand?
The trouble in Australia is you can't sell a bike without registering it in your name first, which means inspections, repairs, re-inspections, big fees, no profit
You can do it with unregistered vehicles I think, although it makes less appealing to potenial buyers, and you can definitely do it with dirtbikes
Im from Costa Rica and I’m interested in starting a biz like yours, can you help me?
Hard to do around where I live....
I would buy bikes from repair shops where the owner didn't pay his bill. I would only pay $100/bike. I would sell them outright if they ran or part them out. Made more parting them out. One GS1100 drag bike had a really long extended swing arm I sold for $1000.
Really cool interesting story!
People out here in California thing their used bikes are worth gold. I love that 900 green 900 Vulcan.and saw your vid for beginners.
Actually most people think that, those are the deals you have to walk away and leave on the table.
the lights behind you burn my eyes
Craigslist has gone bad. Too many scams. Usually, a great deal on a bike is followed up by scam messages saying they want you to wire money to an account.
The real geniuses out there are the ones buying up all the nice CB550’s, making them into cafe racers then selling them half finished.
Spot on.
What????!
I swear every half finished cb500 or cb750 I've seen for sale costs more than an unused one in new condition
The problem is lots of problems come into the picture that you never counted on. Shawn is a talented guy and only a small % of people can make this work. If you like a bike you find bring the seller to the bank which are now open on Saturday and Sunday to close the deal and the transaction is on tape. Also video the transaction with your phone.
So if you bought a CBR 250 for $2000 how much did you ask for a profit from the dealer? How much did you sell it back to them for in other words? Just give me a clue as to what you made per bike. Couple hundred bucks? I would love to start doing this on the side but my problem is I have no money to start. So I have to work on another way to make money first.
God bless you !
Good story thanks for sharing
Can’t make 50k here in australia well definitely not at the moment but we do ok..
We can only have 3 a year without paying threw the butt.. so a dealers licence is the only way to do it.. I have a trade plate myself tho..
can go to dealer only auctions and stuff also
Helpful.
Cool story!🤙👍
Nice video but you speak with a very high pitch voice and too fast otherwise good contents.
Thank you.
Is 50k alot over there?
Ive been wanting to do this for a while. Im always on CL looking at bikes and I have a good knowledge of what bikes are worth and what is hot on the market. Ive seen good deals on bikes that people don't know what they have and what they are worth. I need some capital. I have never lost money on any bike I have bought. I had about 6 different bikes in the last 9 years. Do you go to auctions and how hard is it to get a dealer license?
You can’t just get a license in most states you need insurance and a state approved location and it’s not cheap. But some states are easier than others
Thanks. Im in Philly. Don't think I would try it here but look into it.
I think I might take a ride out your way this summer just to say hi.
Carry cash, carry a firearm.
Yeah baby!!!! Lmao
Or you could just E-transfer the money on the spot.
Don't need a gun - It's 2021.
But you know...guns...It's "cooler" innit?!
amazing video
Your channel likes to interact
thank you
It takes money to make money and most college kids dont have the money to flip things, nor the time to invest into this. What would you suggest to them?
Ft. Bragg baby:) was there 6 yrs.
Do you need a dealer license?
If you're in a state that has a state with sales tax AND requires you to have a physical storefront, you're screwed. By the time you pay the sales tax, for example 10.4% where I live, it won't work.
I Love the Bikes you sale, maybe one day I'll buy one from you . You seem honest and Cool. God Bless
Help Sean! I love these types of informative videos. Please post more. I’m out in CA so I feel like this would be great to try out here. God bless! Jeremiah 29:11
