Yes Swing is Happening World wide but let's not forget to give credit to only a few young enthusiast that started to blast this new trail in the 1980's: Like Lennart Westerlund and the original The Rhythm Hot Shots and their Herräng Dance Camp in Sweden (the mother of all dance camps) that started in the 1980's and is still Alive and Kicking today, the Jiving Lindy Hoppers from London, Ryan Francois from London, Jonathan Bixbie and Silvia Sykes in Santa Barbara, Erin Stevens and Steven Mitchel from Pasedena and only a few others! NOW ALIVE AND KICKING! I could not be happier to see what has happened since those revival beginnings and I also give credit to all those that have taken it to the next level. It is a far step away from those rediscovery days during the many late night recordings on VHS tape in the 1980's, trying to capture anything with Tap, Swing, Shag, Balboa, and Traditional Jazz and the great Swing Era. Not having anybody to share this with put us on a mission. We found the original dancers from that era and had the privilege to work with them directly, so we in turn could continue to pass their passion and knowledge on to others.

West Coast Swing is a completely different dance. It has its own community and vibe, but it is hardly related to Lindy Hop.

Katie Breyman Truth! It is also derivative of Lindy Hop. I’m sure they have their own movie.
