  • In this video I'll show you how to parallel compress vocals in Logic Pro X using UAD 1176 blue face compressor. Parallel compression gives you a more upfront vocal that's in-your-face.

Sorry about the 'DEMO MODE' onscreen. I'm trying out Screenflow demo before purchasing it.

I might be wrong but what it looks like you’re doing is fastest attack (0ms) and a slower release yet in your words I’m hearing the opposite? Anyone else see that? Just confused because I use a different compressor.

It is the opposite with this compression that happens sometimes with different plug ins it is tricky

Song is rad. Question: wouldn't you want to send your vocal to the parallel bus BEFORE inserts/effects? Especially with a big vocal chain like yours. You wouldn't want to slam a bunch of effects, delays, verbs, modulations, with aggressive compression, right? This is one thing I can't figure out in Logic since bus sends are POST inserts. Only solution I can come up with is to duplicate the track and treat it as a parallel compression track. What do you think?

Dude, i am struggling with the same exact problem, but i am facing it with drums, have you come with a solution to this? I was following a tutorial to parallel compress some ezdrumms, but when i send my aux (after inserts and effects) the duplicate signal is too loud, because the isnerts are duplicated and i cant seem to figure out a way to send pre insert

The tutorial i was following used cubase and there, it send all the tracks as a group channel and it was clean, with no fx
