Hey mate! Big fat thank you all the way from Sydney. You have saved me. After watching several CZcams videos I have spent good amount of time trying to find a hole but was unsuccessful. No one really specifies pressure to be the key factor. I mean they do but they don't. You specifically mentioned that it needs lot of pressure to locate the hole.
So I inflated my mattress and ducked it in the bathtub and put more air when it was losing air to make sure it was nice and tight. And Voila, it found it. Thank you again. Keep up the good work.
Hell yeah brother! Great to hear from Sydney!
Thanks mate, logical and to the point. Cheers from Queensland Australia:)
Cheers! Great to hear from you 🫡
can you show how to repair an out valve? Puppy got a hold of mine and shredded the cover out valve of the big Agnes.
NICE tip on the UV patch!
Good video , thanks for sharing , God bless !
Michael your the man!
Just curious - can you use a bicycle tube repair patch to fix holes? I ask because they take only about 3 minutes to apply (lightly sand area, apply glue, wait 3 minutes, peel back of patch, apply), don't require UV light or sunlight to cure, and are super reliable. OK, you may not want to sand the surface but that may not be a problem if the surface has some texture to it.
Yes those will work, good point to probably not sand it, I’ve used a lot of different glues and most will work
Fixing flats are easy. The real question is...how to fix it when the sealed rib parts running the length (in the middle) of the mattress rips loose inside and causes it to balloon up. You can't sleep on it then! I know 5 different mattresses from two different brands did that to me in 3 months. At 2 A.M. you're dead asleep and the inside seal on the partition rips loose you will wake up (if it doesn't throw you off...I had that happen) The brands at Walmart are OZARK TRAIL and INTEX. Both worthless.
Great to know thank you, I won’t get one from there now, I don’t want that happening to me!
Thanks for the product tips
Thank you Chelsy!
How you find the leak if out camping? Thats the trouble im having now ! No soap and water to hand, its a Rab, paid alot of money for it ! Looks like another dead hip night oh well😢
Dang! I listen for leaks real close all over while laying on it or put in the closest water source is mostly what you can do.
Hi man. Thanks a lot for your help. Which is the glue you are using without patches? Great video!
Aquaseal UV from Gear Aid, it works great. Thank you for watching!
What patch are you using?
That's all good information, but that's the easy part!
Somebody tell me how to fix a pad when the internal heat-welded seams start to lift! My favorite one just did that and developed a huge bulge.
Not looking good, the only fix I can think is punching a hole where the seams lifted, bring together from both sides with something (?) and patch those holes
Glue and acetone are toxic. Hard to watch you use this with bare hands...If you want to live longer and "keep surviving" (for your kids and family), protect your self and wear some gloves.
lol, just stop already
do you even backpack, bro?
