  • This is my homemade washing machine drum fire pit, great for burning scrap wood. This one can also be used to make fire tornados as the drum rotates and turns, I also made a grill so it can be used as a barbeque

    Awesome unique "Creative" "Recycling" rarely seen nowadays!
    Outstanding intricate creative thought put into reality.
    I've thought of different possible uses of expired Washing Machine Stainless Steel Tubs as well.
    I came up with the following thoughts;
    Various uses such as perfect for an "Apocalypse " Hand crank Washing Machine tub. For Clothing, Food for the gardener or farmer as as a Big "Colander" or make a crank washing machine tub to hold and strain clean food. Like Fruits& Vegetables , potatoes carrots. Or for even Game animals Sea Food etc.
    For Ammunition Reloaders of Metallic Cartridges to clean the used fired Metallic Cartridges.
    ( Note once used for cleaning
    metallic cartridges which fired Lead Bullets such it should not be anymore used for cleaning food clothing etc).
    Or for the Winemaker as a Grape Press to make Wine.
    For pet owners a safety holding vessel for your unique pets to keep them safe and under watchful eye.
    Or for the Sportsperson / Survivalist for use as a Holding area for Aquafood or make an Eel, Crab/ Crustacean Trap.
    Or as a Cooker Hot Smoker combo.
    Way to go! Keep up the awesome ingenutive creative recycling. Safe Journeys.

    Watching this after i found a giant commercial dryer drum. Thought it was a fire pit untill I got home lol, then saw people make pits out of them. Looks like I have a project now lol. Only prob is it's about 3 times the size of the one in video. Was thinking about burning it half way but worried about root fires. I'll figure something out.

      I have a drum that is a transformer, I often light it with the holy drum, then slip outer cover over it , and for burning leafs, I'll start it open, add outer cover, and a dryer tub that I'll shove and stomp leafs into then flip over and onto top of pit while running a dryer vent motor onto a 4" to 10" home made adapter that forces air in from bottom and sides, makes for one gecko of an incinerator. My next one however will be higher off the ground, wider axles, and an internal stirring system

    Hello Sean,
    I hope this message finds you well. Amazing job on the fire pit. The tornado effect is absolutley awesome.
    I was wondering if the fire pit is still going strong. Been looking at making one myself and recently got the spin drum from a Samsung washer, but magnets readily stick to it so it is not a high grade of stainless steel if at all.
    I don't want to put the time into a project like this only to have the bottom fall out (litterally) after a few uses. I am concerned about the thinness of the metal and the fact that it seems to have high iron content for longevity.
    Please let us all know and thanks so much for sharing your build. Your skills are truly great and you have another subscriber. Keep up the good work.

      @ArtOfTheWeld Před rokem

      I think if it doesn't work with magnets it's a higher quality stainless steel.

    • @gemmaager5588
      @gemmaager5588 Před 2 lety

      Excellent question. I’ve had my washing machine drum fire pit for years, and love it. I get the ash out by picking the thing up and emptying it into the wheelie bin (a couple of days later when all the fire is out and cold). But this is really messy.
      I’m on here to find a better way of emptying it.

    the whole item is over engineered . just use a washing drum fixed to a flat plate and add a griddle on top.

    who else thought this was not going to have that many steps from the initial intro? I literally thought it was going to be.
    1. Pull out drum
    2. Attach to something to stand on
    3. Bobs your uncle
    fair play though, cool build.
