pile 3... spot on seriously. Both of us are 19, planning on moving in together in a year and a half from now while he is still in college. I'm very stable financially with jobs, been saving for the move for about 6 months now. His mom basically told him he should wait and there's no rush to move in and that he should "experience college". Yeah that stung.

Pile 3 sounds like my family/ mum more than my bf's. Me and my bf met in school. We are of different races and have been waiting for my family's blessings for 3 years. At first it was the race barrier she was worried about (if I will fit in with his family and vice versa), then she said we can't be together because we are in different universities, and a ldr is too hard at this young age. But at the same time she loves my bf as a person, she talks good about him, has told the extended family about us, and does see us being together in the end. Her expectation of us waiting for the right age to be together and staying loyal till then doesn't sit right with me and my bf. We have decided to continue the relationship despite the barriers and hopefully when my mum is ready to talk about it and accept us I will tell her everything to do with our relationship in more detail.
