Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (Chukotkaken avtonomnyken okrug; unofficially - Chukotka) is a subject of the Russian Federation, located in the Far Eastern Federal District.
It borders with Yakutia in the north-west, the Magadan region in the south-west and the Kamchatka Territory in the south. In the east it has a maritime border with the United States.
The entire territory of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug belongs to the regions of the Far North.
The administrative center is the city of Anadyr.
The official languages are Russian and Chukchi.
Population: 47,840 people (2022).
The region's territory is 721,481 km². Thus, it ranks 7th in terms of territory among all subjects of the Federation and 2nd among autonomous okrugs.

Chukotka is the most extreme north of Russia , permafrost , Chukchi live there, reindeer herding and whalers are engaged , they are the only ones in the world allowed to hunt whales, on small boats , as in ancient times without weapons , only for food and fat , otherwise they will not survive , there are very few Chukchi left , they roam the eternal permafrost , up to the Bering Strait
