For those of you who don’t know…
The song was written for Mike Portnoy’s father when he passed away. I believe that they played it once (to record), but it was never played live - due to the fact that is was sung by MP, and it was very/highly emotional, and out of respect for he and his father, and family.
Yes, JP plays it so emotional because he and the other members of DT were all very close to MP’s father.
Maybe you’ll understand the song even more now…
