    It's easy to do with captain bernard, but any competent fighter just parries too much to actually land the strikes

      Yeah, even fucking peasants can do master strikes in mid to end game :-D

      And any opponent who isn't able to parry at least once dies before you can finish the combo.

    you finally do a cool one just for it to do barely any damage then in the next round you just clinch and stab to the face to get an insta-kill :D

    The only thing I lose is clinch battle I always miss the timing unless there is a perk I am missing.

      i thought clinches were strength checks

      There is a perk that increases your chances of winning a clinch.

      The timing probably isn't the issue, there's a lot of time to win a clinch there's no need to press the button at exactly the right moment, clinches are determined by strength and perks.

    Its funny that any trainer in this game will tell you that repeating yourself is an awful mistake but without fail spamming slash from above is the best strategy

      @k9px Před měsícem +1

      Not really no, there are some easy combos in the game that make openings and then you can stab them much better. The overhead slash does almost no damage to a guy with a decent helmet.

    For more seasoned fighters, you'd have to either
    feint (works inconsistently)
    holding feints, It sometimes baits them to attack immediately, you can still parry/master strike when holding feint. You can also hold a stabbing feint, but you can't changed positions after that.
    Clinch weapons, just get close to them and win the clinch. Can be inconvenient when on flat ground or uneven terrain (BUSHES!)
    Active footwork, this take some experience, practice and situational awareness. If you can manage to step outside thier range as they swing, it puts you in the prime position pull a hit or a combo in the opening. You could very easily get a head level stab (hold rmb and gently swipe up) and deal a good chunk of dmg.
    It's clear to see that mainly two of these could be used in grouped fights. You could clinch weapons to make space to try and juggle you oppenents. Not great when there are more than 3. Footwork and actively switch targets (personally prefer to hold shift to disengage, and release to re-engage. Caps lock is just finiky since you can't switch to them if they're to side or behind you and there is a "arming" period where you have to press twice. Still pretty useful to hotswap if you could parry them) to have a view on all of them is very helpful
    Man, I still remember the euphoria I got from landing a duplieren (a 4 hit sword combo) as the final blow in the Rattay Tourney.
