Oh shit bro… I just realized luke thought his brother had died years ago in sage grove… and kept picturing him as a kid even though he has seen him as a teen atleast 3 years ago… which means she was cleaning Luke’s memory and maybe implanting memories the whole time.
Yep - i was getting confused why Luke did see him at Sage Grove - but only sees him as a little boy in “visions”/dreams (the two facilities’ locations were getting compounded in my head as well)
I think it can't be understated how great it was that they bucked the trend of so so so many thrillers where the tension could be resolved with a phone call. They actually did the phone calls to give each other information, instead of drawing out pointless drama because people aren't communicating in ways that people communicate. At every turn this episode people were acting with sense. Sam recognizing the consequences of a mind wipe and not getting pointlessly hurt, characters actually saying things to each other in response to situations that normal people would actually speak instead of leaving in a huff (Marie and Jordan after Marie got wiped again), and so on. In another show this episodes beats would have been dragged out over several episodes or even a whole season, but this show actually uses its subject matter smartly. It has these kids behaving in ways that make sense, that are age and technologically appropriate, and letting the situation create the drama instead of drawing things out by having characters behave in ways that are frustrating and unrealistic.
Everyone was using their words, and it's so nice to see.

@@RiverRockXIIItbf, the show takes place in a university with characters in their low twenties. It makes sense that sex is in the story a lot. Despite that, I don’t think any of the episodes in Gen V are as sexually explicit as Herogasm in The Boys.

I’m starting to think that Sam isn’t actually schizophrenic, but has PTSD with Psychosis. Think about it. He was experimented on since he was a little kid, so to deal with all the trauma his mind replaced all the blood and guts with something softer, something a kid is familiar with, puppets. It’s always an anxiety stress response, and he’s not really “paranoid”, everything we’ve seen so far is actually true.
i don't think he was experimented on since he was a kid? unless I'm missing something. Im pretty sure he wasn't experimented on until he got to the woods since the way he talked about the place he was before as if it was a "normal" psyche ward vs how he talks about the woods.

@@dre27321 in episode 3 we find out he was previously held in Sage Grove Center, this was the same place the boys broke into in season 2. If you saw those episodes then you know it’s also a place that experiments on supes, not to the degree the woods is doing but they were doing messed up stuff. To Sam who doesn’t know any better, Sage grove looked like summer camp. We know he was in there 3 years ago and was soon moved to the woods. Other than that, we don’t really know, but it was hinted at he was in Sage grove for a while. Hes also supposed to be around 17, so when we save him in the Sage Grove he was only 14.
@@Likeomgitznich the experiments done at that center was giving V to people who didn’t have powers yet to create a better formula. Sam already had powers before he was there. So I doubt they did anything to him there. Especially since he had enough freedom to even be aware of the news that compound V was given to them as kids along with him not speaking about the treatment there as opposed to the woods. Also the fact that his brother was allowed to even come talk to him just cause he was throwing a “tantrum”. If they were doing experiments back then they wouldn’t allow this much autonomy

I knew it was Cate when it showed her at the facility with Luke and Sam, yet any time they would mention Sam, she would act as if she didn't know anything about him.

I loved how after last episode no one was guessing Cate, yet it was so blindingly obvious, they've been dropping hints since episode 1 about how much she is constantly using her powers, the implication being on GB
I said that from episode 2...not sure on which react...but when she put Sam to sleep I knew it was her
A ton of people including myself said Cate, Rufus was too obvious and Cate completely disappeared from the kitchen right after Sam told her to go away
Enough people were suspecting Cate, but yeah, majority were blind to it.
We should of realized based on how Andre somehow didnt recognize Sam was Luke's brother back in episode one
In episode 4, when Sam said Andre was "one of them," he points to Cate. A really cool detail

Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the cocksplosion did happen. He wasn't close enough to use his powers and Cate wasn't anywhere around. Plus he saw her and high tailed it outta there, only reason he'd have for that is if he's looking at the girl who exploded his johnson. As for why he's not in agonizing pain, it's been a couple days and I'm sure the medical team at a school this dangerous is dealing with that kinda shit all the time, probably much more advanced than what we have. Not to say he still has a pecker, probably just recovered relatively quick. It's also been almost a week since then.

Props to Director on this one, it could easily have turned into a hot mess but it was the best yet.
Cate's story about telling her brother to go into the woods was actually her guilt expressing what she did to Sam, a brother, just not hers. Maybe her motivation comes from the Dean telling her that Sam is dangerous & she needs to wipe her friends' memories, including her BF, to protect them from 'rescuing' Sam. That's why she feels like she's 'helping' them, the Dean has gaslighted her into thinking she's protecting her friends
Yeah I think her romantic relationship with Golden Boy was real (but hard to tell about her and Andre) - he did ask her to make him feel better. Maybe that’s when it started?? Im dying to know WHEN the dean’s use of her began
She is protecting them, from being murdered by the dean lol So I think, now that it's out that she's the mole, they will use her. The random scene of the dean asking Cate for a hug was there so that the next time they hug, Cate can influence her.
I love how the plot twist is so good that even when we all saw the reveal coming, it still exceeded our expectations and satisfied us.
That's some damn good writing, acting, everything.
In the start of this episode Jordan tells Cate that “her body remembers” after she says her story with Rufus, wich was a bit shown in the episode too, with Mary remembering random infos she had acquired prior to the blackout🙃 or even Emma looking like she had a feeling right as she saw Sam compared to Marie you know?
Am I the only one who's glad we didn't see the real version of Sam slaughtering soldiers?! Cause boy it was horrifying af. 😂 I freakin love this show. Now I think the only thing that might probably stop Shetty and Vaught is Soldier Boy. I guess the gang might team up with her next episode.

D-splosion happened. Just assume roofing Rufus healed quickish just like A train with his severely broken leg. Pretty sure Cate wasn't around for that and wouldn't have a reason to imprint that specific of memory to Marie and Jordan
It's possible that D-splosion didn't happen, but that implanted memory serves as a way to further boost her recount of what she says happened between her and Rufus.
Surely you'd be more inclined to believe Rufus is the bad guy if you experience something negative beforehand (whether or not it's true has yet to verified by the show).
Rufus abducting Marie could be true, just the events after could have been doctored.
For all we know, Cate could have pushed Rufus to abduct Marie.

The way her powers work is different from Silver Kincaid in the comics + the fact that there's an actual Silver Kincaid in the show. But the similarities between Cate and the character are eerie, and she ends up having a meltdown and using her powers to destroy her own brain because she felt guilty she got coerced into using her powers on someone she cared about (who ended up dead too).

That was good twist. My jaw was on the floor, but looking back it makes all the sense, I’m glad that shows are finally not going the stereotypical plot/route and are willing to be a little adventurous in their story telling/plot
This episode was great, but they really could’ve let the tension linger with Cate being the mind wiper. Maybe stagger the characters finding across more than just ten minutes. Idk why this episode was so much shorter than the others
True but also the characters actually communicated in the show. Like if this was a typical show Marie wouldn’t have answered Emma’s call. It’s sort of refreshing to see characters naturally exchange info.
Because Cate isn’t the REAL villain. That’s why they didn’t let it linger - because there’s something else which deserves the build-up more.

I hope they make more of a correlation between how these kids are viewed almost like cattle. A concept similar to how college athletes in D1 levels are seen as expendable and “for-profit.”
They were definitely making that point with the doctor referring to them as animals and psychopaths, and the guard saying "Like dogs" about superhearing. They might be superhuman, but it's evident that those experimenting on them view them as subhuman.

Puppets will go down in history as the best choreographed fight scene. Also I think Cate is misunderstood, literally most if not all of them are fighting to not be considered monsters and she just seems to want to be good. Also I’m watching this reaction right after the show and seeing Cate asking questions throughout takes on a new light. As always a great reaction and I died when Richard just kept Richarding. 😂

hi guys! where did you find the episode available to download to use in your video? i still can’t find it lol - i used a website that can download videos from youtube to get the first episode.. but now it’s only on streaming services, which i have, but those services won’t let you download anything as a file to import to final cut
my struggle is that i’ve got reactions already recorded but i can’t get a downloadable version of this to get it to my computer files, to then import to final cut pro 😅 i’ve been asking several channels a few times so just waiting for a reply from one so i may learn 🙂

Someone who can pay more than Vought can, in the world of the show, that leaves one other option: the US govt. which means she will likely end up on “Team Boys” instead of The Seven
I feel like Sam's powers are more psychic and imagination based. His powers work like a mind over matter. I suspect he can tear people apart because he sees them as puppets and maybe not because he is super strong. I feel that fits better with his mental projection that he was using on Luke. Hard to be certain but that is where I'm leaning.
My theory is she had been wiping golden boy’s memory more then just his brother I think his entire life he’s been where sam was till he was ready for them to make him homelander

I don't know if Cate can implant memories, they all seem to have missed time. So, I suspect the Rufus thing happened only its longer ago than we think and also he is a supe, they all can recover. But he is also wearing like a track suit most of the episode....
During scene at end, Rufus when he goes down covers his junk and crosses his legs almost, it really happened.
New wild theory. Maybe in that scene where we see Rufus with Dean Shetty, he actually reads her mind. And he sees the entire plot of what is going on and that’s why he runs. He knows he’s being by scapegoated. And maybe in that scene with Maria he did actually help her locate Emma before Kate intervened.
Both the cocksplosion scene and SA story from Kate could just be lies to create the red herring. Outside of that the Rufus character has seemed like a pretty normal high school student who made Kate made at the memorial telling jokes.
