For example, when Angelina sang her legendary cover of Screamin’ Jay Hawkin’s “I Put a Spell on You” at nine years old, she said of the song: "It means love, desperate love! It's very special, it's almost voodoo! The original is very nice, and when I scream it is a desperate cry that everyone should love each another!" Yes, Angelina is an old soul but it is appropriate to consider *HER CHOICE* of these songs not with our 30-40-50 year old sensibilities, but with that of a sweet, precocious little nine year old. 💛🫶

Angelina the person is even more extraordinary than Angelina the singer, which is beyond incredible. I love the soul she put into this song and marvel at her ability to convey the angst of the person the song describes, but not for a second does it ever occur to me that those feelings in any way relate to this beautiful young child's life, family and experiences. No 'if's', 'and's', or 'but's', this song, had it been allowed to be released by her mom Sara, there's no doubt in my mind that it would have been a huge hit. At 10, which is how old she was, this performance is so sultry and adult like in it's presentation, that you think a fully adult woman is singing. There's no other singer, other than perhaps Judy Holiday, who could perform on this level at the age of 10, for it is truly mind boggling.

I was thinking her parents are pushing her out too far. Her voice is fantastic but I have heard that older, soul type voice before and they are all dead.
