Handy tip: because most gasoline has ethanol added to it, after a year or so most of it would be useless. Unless there are refineries (like in Mad Max Fury Road) you can siphon all you want but it won’t work. They’d all be walking…

When I watch this I think of "Life After People" and how our infrastructure would wear out without maintanence. If I was driving on a highway especially, I'd still drive slowly, as you wouldn't know what bad patches were coming up.
I still don’t understand how an infected would get into one of the tanks and disable it, let alone three of them. Maybe they were destroyed in some inter-human war between different military factions.

I wish they could’ve made Bella’s hair red or more auburn since Ellie is a redhead which is actually important for her looks. Also I wish Joel had a stronger southern accent.

I agree with you on both fronts. The last sci-fi show I remember that illustrated an actual positive outlook of the future was Star Trek: The Next Generation, which was before my time. And unfortunately yes, this is probably the most realistic outcome for humanity if we were to go through a cataclysmic event. Thomas Jane’s line from the Mist comes to mind “Sure as long as the machines are working and you can dial 911. But you take those things away, you throw people in the dark, you scare the shit out of them, no more rules. You’ll see how primitive they can get.” In other words, too much reality is a little depressing to see all the time in entertainment that is supposed to be a form of escape 😂
