Don't know why but I felt bad about Nico Hulkenberg's most races without a podium the most. It's still increasing, likely to reach over 200 races by the end of the 2023 season and over 220 if he has a seat for 2024. It will probably never be broken because most drivers are dropped after a few years regardless of their performance, let alone drivers that race long enough in a car incapable of reaching the top 3 without extreme luck.
It is hurtful for Nico, isn't it. He is a quality driver with amazing consistency but as that number of races without a podium inflates and inflates, I think that if he gets the opportunity for a podium he'll just choke like he did in Germany 2019. Well, it depends on the metrics system used. A season with 24 races will consequently give more points than old seasons that had less races and less points for positions, so nowadays it is easier to beat some records than it used to be. A fairer way of counting would be by percentage.
Unpopular opinion: it is much easier to break records nowadays with such long seasons! If you have a dominant car at the seasons' beginning, you can gather statistics worth almost two seasons of the past. With all the budget, testing, and development caps it is nearly impossible for others to catch up. Hopefully, the new wind tunnel regulations will help.

I find it interesting in the modern era of motorsports about the rise of prominence given to drivers finishing 2nd and 3rd places in races, with the phrase "podium finish" being used often in positive terms. It wasn't always that way. Going back decades ago, there was nothing celebratory with finishing third; the driver might as well have finished 10th in the same race. Second place finisher would have been given some prominence, as the points earned went towards the championship standings for the driver; but that runner-up driver would be among the crowd, not to be seen sharing space with the victor.

Well duh. I would think that standing on the podium for more races in a season is more important than a 100 percent record.
At the same time it's easier to finish at the podium every race when the season has less races. So a percentage is misleading as well
