How to Clean Shop Vac Filters - The Quick and Easy Way

My Karcher wd3 multi-purpose vacuum cleaner I discovered I can do so many things with it in terms of cleaning out my garage. I discovered how to clean its air filter without spending a dollar to keep me from using its disposable dirt bags. At over 30 bucks for a box of 5. In my previous videos, I have shown you how to protect your Karcher wd3’s filter from debris using a used ladies’ stocking and it was effective.
In my second video which is also about the Karcher wd3 multi-purpose vacuum cleaner, the tip I gave is about keeping the Karcher dust filter clean using the vacuum’s air blowing power. And as I expected, the cleaning was also effective. But to remind you, I’m doing this to help you save on using the disposal dirtbags of the unit which are unbelievably pricey.
My industrial vacuum cleaner seems to be tough, the most important thing you must consider to maximize its capacity is how to keep its air filter clean because this is where the air passes and the dirt accumulates with or without the bag.
So in this video, I’m showing you another effective and efficient air filter cleaning tip with the use of water and some detergents or dishwashing soap. If you have watched on my other videos that the use of an old stocking can prevent dirt from clinging to the air filter while on the other video the use of powerful air can blow off the dust from the filter, there’s nothing that can beat the effectiveness of the use of water and detergent in cleaning this part.
Presumably, any commercial vacuum cleaner, particularly shop vacs like the Karcher units also have costly air filters. But then, these can be reused many times if you know how to keep them clean or how to clean them up as they are not designed to be reusable. Like with my Karcher wd3 multi-purpose vacuum cleaner, I can reuse its air filter many times now because I have an array of cleaning techniques on hand.
So let me tell you now about how to keep your Karcher dust filter clean regardless of its model and this is with the use of water and detergent. All you need to do is prepare the soapy water half-full on a bucket then jiggle the filter in and out of the water for a few minutes till the water gets dirty. Then as a final touch in cleaning this industrial vacuum cleaner’s filter, you can use the vacuum’s hose to blow out the remaining dirt on the crevices of the filter while under the soapy water.
If you have an industrial vacuum cleaner with the same material as my Karcher WD3, you can do this same cleaning method which is very effective on any mesh-type air filters. Karcher is one of the best brands when it comes to shop vacs and if you want a commercial vacuum shop vac type, this brand is one of the best. There are the larger and more powerful versions of my Karcher WD3 Premium. There are now the Karcher WD5, Karcher WD 6 P, and the Karcher WD 4 Premium and all these according to reviews are very reliable.

Been using that trick for years in my dewalt battery vacuum- another trick is use a 'precleaner'- use either a loosely woven cotton bag, or the toe end off a pair of old pantyhose...keeps the filter cleaner for far longer- the one in mine is over three years old, and used pretty much every day

Mine doesn't have a bag the stocking trick works, when I use it for wet I take the filter out and have a foam over where the filter goes, all the best to you and your loved ones
