- Hello, and welcome back to EOLI! Today's episode will cover the infamous G5. Want more Engines of Long Island? Why not subscribe and hit the bell? That way, you'll know when the next episode comes out.
And yes, I have been reading your comments that you're looking forward to the M1s, Geeps, and the like. But as excited for those as I am, just a reminder that I am doing the series in chronological order. So, we're looking at grinding through the following locomotives: ALCO RS/S, FM units, C420s, M1/3s, MP-15, GP-38 and DE/DM30ACs.
EDIT: It appears that for whatever reason I got copystriked for these videos about plagiarism? So let me say it again for those of you who can't read: ANYTHING I DON'T OWN HAS BEEN GIVEN PROPER CREDIT IN THIS VIDEO AND IN THE CREDITS!
Hope Stephen Weaver and or Jim Brehm can help with this ten wheeler someday, Jim who worked at Steamtown 25 or so years ago, was with the original LIRR restoration project in early 72 or so
Very good series! Also, great music choice to describe the last run of 39. ;) As a Long Island railfan, I am aware of the history of the LIRR and it is great to see that someone started an Engines of series for the LIRR! Keep up the great work!
Cant wait for the next episodes
Great Video!
Facts are a bit screwed up, but overall, a solid presentation.
We want the LIRR G5s back!
Can you do more Long Island steam locomotives?
As of right now, probably not. Maybe some other time I'll cover engines like the H10's.
Ok
Like lirr
are you still making these?
give it time, I'm working on episodes 3 & 4 rn

Too bad the real story of the preservation of the #35 is never told.
Could you at least give us the gist of the "real story of the preservation of the #35?"
I'd love to hear it myself, wonder what I could learn. Been trying to gain as much knowledge about these locomotives as possible.
@@WAL_DC-6B it's getting a full cosmetic and roling restoration at the oysterbay Railroad museum
@@khanwolf4117 Thanks for the update on #35!
