Lol the roster maker was wylin out. 39yo Tim Duncan 95 overall, 35yo D-West 84 overall, 38yo Manu overall 91 overall, 33yo Tony Parker 87 overall. That’s crazy. Danny Green could’ve been a point or two higher, made All-DEF the year after this.
Love these historic rebuilds tho, would really enjoy a DET one anywhere from like ‘09 - mid 2010s. A 10y rebuild starting in mid 2010s would be awesome.

This was my favorite team all time to watch. I’m a bit biased since I grew up watching this team, but man, these old heads were so much fun to watch. Not the flashiest guys around, but they got stuff done.
No way ginobli was 91 rating in 2015-2016 and Tony Parker aswell they was best 83 overall

The Spurs played and outlived the bulls era, lakers era, pistons era, celtics era, heat era, so without a doubt they would've handled the warriors too had the kawhi situation never happened.

There were honestly 2 scenarios where the Spurs could have gotten a star player to join Kawhi and are very underrated what ifs in NBA history. First was when KD was a free agent and he could have signed to the Spurs. That duo would have dominated the league, even against the Warriors and Cavs. He just ended up dominating with the Warriors instead. Second was when PG wanted to be traded from the Pacers. PG and Kawhi together would still be pretty deadly, we saw what he did in OKC and expressed interest in joining the Spurs. Spurs just didn't have enough assets to get him, but OKC did. PG and Kawhi would end up playing together in LA though and when they do and are healthy, they're great together
Also LeBron in 2018.. could’ve come to the spurs instead of the Lakers, but that’s quite unrealistic

@@gabrielcarrasco9078 Yeah KD was desperate to win, hell he could've joined Harden on the Rockets and still probably would have won. But KD to the Spurs would have been dominant, 2 top ten players in the league together, walking buckets and great defenders. They would have been able to stop the Warriors and Cavs. He definitely would have won with the Spurs, but there are two things that I feel might have made him not interested in San Antonio. First one being that it's in San Antonio even though it's in Texas, a small market after already leaving OKC, he probably wanted to play for a big market team. He most likely would have chosen Houston if he wanted to go to a Texas team. Second being coach Pop, this is more of my personal opinion but I feel is worth mentioning. KD has shown that he's kinda soft and Pop is Pop, he would get on him and hold him accountable for mistakes even though he didn't make much mistakes. However, I think Pop would have wanted him to get settled and make him comfortable first like they did with Aldridge when he first got to San Antonio. Regardless, Pop would still get on you whether you're a star player or a bench player. I feel he might have not been able to handle it
You should rebuild the Rockets that came up short and try to get CP3 and Harden a ring
