Wow. Reminds me of what happened in Dallas during the ice storm.
Where was this at and hoped yall stayed safe I live in louisiana but I need to know where at may God bless yall
I would want to see who was on their cell phones at the time there could be many contributing factors
Lol, yeah the fog is the contributing factor…

@@user-ne5ns7sd6x have you ever driven through thick fog like that? you can't see suddenly, it happens out of nowhere, they are traveling on an interstate so the fog could be masking a brick wall a few feet ahead and they wouldn't know until it's too late. maybe some of them were a bit distracted but accidents like this takes down even undistracted drivers (just from personal experience)
unless you live in louisiana, you don’t get how bad it was. you couldn’t see 2 feet i front of you and the air was polluted with the disgusting smell of fire
It went from seeing 2 - 3 cars in front to nothing so fast. Happened going up on the bridge right by the shore line. Which also causes heavy fog & in this case smog.
I'm from Louisiana and they drive horrible. Going super fast and driving bumper to bumper. This is everyday from NO to BR.
all I hear is bad news after bad news in this world. Hope these people are ok and heal from this massive dump
Absolutely horrific , i hate driving in fog and it the fact that as i have no idea about the people around , going too fast then the pile up starts and the people behind going too fast , this is where i think leds in roads could add in heavy fog times a spacing sequence where the car in front triggers a line of led across the lanes , to indicate at a certain speed your distance to the car in front same should go for integrating IR cameras/ sensors on the front and rear , trained to the heat of the cars, if your too close its red , if your too slow its amber and if it green your all travelling a good sequence between each other. Surely the tech is out there to prevent this kind of accident but the biggest failure component as always is the human behind the wheel , everyone at the mercy of the weakest link and slightest lapse of concentration.
0:50 that flame😬😪
You could feel it from a ways away from both sides.
What the news doesn't tell you is that people in that area love to tailgate for miles and miles. Even the 18 wheelers do the same thing. There are rear end collisions weekly around the Baton Rouge and New Orleans area. if not daily.
It is impossible to try and drive while blinded by fog but people have to get to work. Employers do not allow for fog. Dumb people running the world. Heard it many times ("why are you late?) and I'd say extremely thick fog causing slow traffic flow. No one wants to leave a hour early every day just incase it is foggy. Ignorant state police should close all interstates when there is no visibility. Louisiana is a terrible place to live with extreme poverty and corrupt politicians. Fog is very common and on days like today does not lift until after 10 am. It is a act of God and people need to respect that. Glad i am free from the daily grind of have to commute to a dead end low paying job.
God have mercy! 😢 🙏🏼
Probably driving too fast in fog and cannot stop in time.
not probably definitely Sad and pisses me off. Mostly 18 wheelers
OUTSIDE DC IN THE 60S BAD ONE
FOR THOSE NOT AWARE, BE SURE TO SLOW DOWN IN FOG AND INCLAMATE WEATHER
Dam the torpedoes and full speed ahead obviously a crap load of expert drivers
Inclement*
Going to fast I fog , looks like all those vehicles are dumper smelling 😂😂
